Wining and Dining:
The area provides excellent dining for all. Padstow,home of celebrity chef Rick Stein boasts many places to eat, all catering for different tastes and wallets. Port Isaac(15 minutes by car)enjoys a variety of eateries ,most with an emphasis on fresh fish....Try the 'Slipway Hotel'......Whatever your taste you will find plenty of choice in the vicinity.
Active things to do.:
The Camel Trail was formed when Dr. Beeching closed many of the small railway branch lines. Running from Bodmin ,in one direction, to Padstow in the other, whether walking or cycling the views of the estuary are spectacular. Bicycles may be hired at Bodmin ,Wadebridge or Padstow.
Polzeath, provides some of the best surfing in the area, and all equipment can be hired on the beach, whilst Daymer bay is renowned for first class wind surfing. Water skiing is also available in the estuary at Rock, where you can also enjoy excellent dinghy sailing.
Places of Interest:
The Eden Project has rapidly become one of England's most famous attractions, and in common with the region's other botanical attractions, provides a fascinating insight into the world's plants. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a must when visiting the area ,as are Lanhydrock and Pencarrow.
The areas seafaring traditions can be viewed at Charlestown Shipwreck & heritage centre and The National Maritime Museum.
