Things To Do

Right next door to your cottage, there are riding stables which cater for all abilities. Bodmin Moor is also fantastic for walking and hiking, with Rough Tor and Brown Willy (the two highest points in Cornwall) viewable from your cottage. The Camel Trail also runs through Bodmin Moor which is great for cycling enthusiasts. Some of the best beaches in England are a 25 minute drive away. The picturesque fishing village of Padstow is a short ferry ride away from Rock. There are 9 golf courses within striking distance. The A30 allows easy access to south Cornwall and the Eden Project is just a 20 minute drive away.

Dining Out

One of Cornwall's most closely guarded secrets are it's 'Olde Worlde' pubs which are tucked away in remote villages. We have done a little research and we can offer a good selection of traditional Cornish pubs to visit, all of which welcome children. A sample selection is: The Old Inn in St Breward (1/2 mile away) - 11th Century pub with fantastic 'Les Routiers' food and open fires / The Old Inn in Blisland (CAMRA Pub of the Year) is just 2 miles away and has a great family room and cheap basket food / The St Kew Inn / The St Mabyn Inn / The Cornish Arms at Pendogget / The Maltsters Arms (Cornish Pub of the Year). For the more special occasion, you may wish to book a table at Rick Stein's Cafe in Padstow. We have many more suggestions .....

We took over Hallagenna Farmhouse and its cottages in spring 2007, and since then we have made many improvements. The hard work has already been rewarded with some positive comments received from happy guests.
