The Isle of Portland is located on the south coast of Dorset and forms part of the World Heritage Coastline, known as the 'Jurassic Coast'. Famous for centuries as the home of Portland stone (used by Christopher Wren on St Paul's Cathedral and numerous other London churches). Portland is now evolving into a centre for leisure activities including fishing, diving, bird watching, rock climbing, walking and a variety of water sports, including sailing at the newly opened National Sailing Academy, venue for the sailing events at the 2012 Olympic Games. Portland is made up of several village communities which together offer a range of amenities, however Weymouth with its picturesque harbour and its award winning sandy beach is only 6 miles away.

Suitable for elderly providing they can cope with stairs. The sitting room and dinning rooms are at different levels by two steps. There is a pay as you go gas meter installed. There is £20 credit at start of holiday. Customers may have to top up depending on amount of gas used!

There is an allocated parking space next to the cottage for one car. There is a free car park opposite the cottage and further parking along sea wall to the left of the cottage. There is also parking on the road side. There is a council car park within a 3-4 minute walk.
