Dorset holiday cottage: Clements Lane, Portland

The property details are accurate. This place has a nice living space, kitchen and dining areas downstairs; large bedroom, bathroom, and shower room on second floor; and two large bedrooms on the top floor. All the linens were provided. Perfect for our family of 6 with two kids sharing a large bed, two in singles, and our own room on the second floor.

Although the cottage is an old structure, the inside is contemporary and well-maintained. We didn't have any problems at all. It is a good set up for self catering where you are interested in using the amenities.

The owner was very helpful and responsive. Nothing was hidden when we discussed the terms.

I would highly recommend this location to anyone interested in spending time on the South coast (UK) near an attractive resort like community (Weymouth) with many opportunities for hiking, biking, sailing, and kite flying.

The coast trail extends all the way around Portland Island and was easy enough for our 8 year old to walk the entire distance (we cut the trail in half by walking across the island in the middle - 6 miles walk for us). There are two restaurants within very short walking distance and on the beach. These places have marvelous food and friendly staff. A well run Co-Operative grocery store is a short uphill walk and provided most of everything we needed.

Probably the only reason we are rating it Good instead of Excellent was because our bed mattress (on the second floor) was a little lumpy and soft (hard on my back) but all the other beds were perfect.
