Large detached stone cottage. English Tourism Council 5* awarded and inspected annually With 6 bedrooms, 5 of which have ensuite bath/shower rooms. 2 bedrooms on groundfloor. Fabulous open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area. Mark Wilkinson 'Cooks' oak and hand painted kitchen. 4 oven Aga, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer with ice and water dispenser. Decked area to the rear with tables and chairs for outdoor dining. Utility room WC, washing machine and tumble dryer. Separate cloakroom. 2 Ground floor en suite bedrooms, particularly suitable for the less mobile. Upstairs, 1 family room with king bed and single in alcove, en suite bath. 2 twin bedrooms with en suite shower rooms. Small pretty single bedroom. All floors oak with rugs. Ground floor limestone with underfloor heating. Wood burning stove in lounge.

A great place to stay

We arrived with 5 cars (all could be parked close by) were met by perfect hosts and an incredibly warm & comfortable cottage. The next morning we saw 3 deer in the garden and as the week passed every day presented a new delight.
The standard of the furnishing was high, with excellent cooking/kichen/laundry facilities that allowed us to have an excellent family break with all the comforts of home.
We are a family that includes two disabled great uncles,two grandparents, two toddlers - this was a great destination for us all. We had access to two Trampers - off road electric wheelchairs - one courtesy of Barnacre cottages and local businesses and the other from Wyre Borough Council. These enabled the whole family to explore the fells and the surrounding Forest of Bowland together. We feel as if we have discovered a secret treasure and whilst we would like to keep it to ourselves we know that the businesses in the area will not survive without more visitors. So I would recommend this holiday destination to all, but please treat it well!
