Our long weekend at Seymour Cottage
Review Submitted: September 9, 2009
Date of Stay: September 2009
We've just returned from a three night stay at this delightful cottage which we choose at very short notice and at random from this website. The description given by the owners is 100% accurate and the location is absolutely lovely, directly across the village road to the river, which is beautiful.
The cottage is very cosy, very well maintained, and the owners have thought of everything for the occupiers comfort. The beds are clean, comfortable and the bedding is new and fresh. All we took with us were towels. Our stay was early September and one night it was very chilly when we arrived back from a restaurant but we put the living room fire on and the cottage took no time to warm.
We have no hesitation at all in recommending this cottage and would hope to rebook for at least a week in future as three days is not enough to enjoy the lovely area.
The owners left a comprehensive list of restaurants etc. in the village and surrounding areas and all we tried were excellent, especially the fish of the day at the Staith n Willow restaurant.
We hired a boat from Wroxham, very near, and had couple of enjoyable hours on the river; took ourselves off to shire horse sanctuary near Cromer and adopted a splendid animal called Bluebell, with whom we instantly fell in love.
We left on Monday morning, had coffee in the village, sat outside the Swan pub watching the boats and to our surprise and pleasure were able to watch an otter going about its normal Monday morning business - lovely!
Perhaps a blessing (or not) but O2 mobile phone reception in the village was not good, a bit hit and miss, which we didn't mind but others might find it a nuisance.
