The kitchen has been thoughtfully modernised It has the magnificent fireplace with lovely beams with the copper to once side where in the past the clothes were washed and the large bread oven to the other side. The Old Bakehouse has been tastefully modernised and comfortably furnished while still retaining the original character and charm you would expect from a traditional 18th century building.

4 star rating

We have a four star rating awarded by the Quality in Tourism Board. We want to make your holiday a relaxing and peaceful time for you. Please contact us if there is anything we can do for you to make your stay more pleasant. We have been virtually fully booked since advertising with holiday-rentals.

Please note:

As we are a working stock farm and horse livery yard we do ask that children and pets are fully supervised at all times. We have many fields and walks on the farm. The sows are farrowing all year, ewes are lambing in the Spring and mares are foaling in the Spring/early Summer. Please do not walk round the back of horses and mind little fingers!

Other Activities Bird watching and many local historical sites to visit.

Golf Information:

There are many local golf courses. We have had many golfers stay with us.

Two visits - so far.....

Margaret & Malcolm , Morpeth, Northumberland, UK
Review Submitted: February 20, 2008, Date of stay: June, 2007

We first visited this cottage in June 2006 and found it a beautiful and relaxing location with lots of places to walk with our dogs. It was spotless and provided everything we needed. The friendly owners made us very welcome - nothing was too much trouble - and we booked up straight away for the following year. On our second visit in June 2007, we really enjoyed our stay; although our dogs didn't quite know what to make of the piglets! We also got to know the area a little more - we found it very helpful that we could go into the grounds of Blenheim Palace with our dogs and enjoyed our day there.

We've booked the cottage again for our third visit this June - its the ideal place for a relaxing break which keeps us going for the rest of the year. We would definitely recommend this property to a friend - we know it couldn't fail to please.

Owner's response:

Thank you Malcolm and Margaret for your review - we look forward to seeing you and the dogs in June. It is always a pleasure to welcome people from the North East of England to our cottage.
