Stone Cottage is situated adjoining the Broad Gate in Ludlow's Broad Street. This unspoilt country town with it's Castle, beautiful Parish Church and river walks provides a base for seeing the rest of South Shropshire and the Welsh border towns. Stone cottage has been recently modernised to an exceptionally high standard and the self catering accommodation which sleeps four is equipped to British Tourist Board guidelines. The cottage has delightful views up Broad Street and off street parking.

Surrounded by maginificent countryside, Ludlow is the ideal place for discovering the rest of South Shropshire and the Welsh border towns. This unspoilt medival market town, which dates back to the 12th Century, is the perfect location for visitors to enjoy their time exploring the surroundings of Ludlow Castle, the beautiful parish church and the woodland and riverside walks. The Ludlow Festival takes place in the last week of June and the first week in July, drawing vistors from across the county to enjoy Shakespearian plays set within the ancient castle itself. A food festival also takes place in September throughout the town, and Ludlow is the only town in the UK outside of London where there are two Michelin star restaurants offering visitors a gastronomic experience not to be forgotton.

Stone cottage is a real home from home!

We first stayed at the house in August 2008 and went back again in 2009 as my husband and I along with our kids (3yr old & 8 yr old) enjoyed it so much!

Even if faced with the unpredictable "summer" weather the house caters for our needs. Indeed we had a day rained off this year and we spent hours in the conservatory playing board games and the kids made cakes in the ample kitchen. Stone Cottage will remain a hit for us for many years to come as we have stayed in many houses over the years and this one above all makes my children feel totally comfortable - which speaks volumes!

Having young kids to cater for its great being on the edge of town as its quiet at night time with the cottage being tucked away and its a short (4 mins max) and pleasant stroll into town. The castle is also very close. Ludlow (and surrounding area) is a lovely town with so much to do to occupy kids & adults......short walks, long walks, caves, moors, bike rides easy and hard (hmmm or maybe thats my age), great restaurants (2 x michelin's starred ones), great butchers (a real foodies's delight), outdoor market.......its endless.....next year we will be spending two weeks at Stone Cottage for our "blow off some steam before school runs" holiday!

We have been visiting UK in the summer for many years from Australia. This year we enjoyed an excellent week at Stone Cottage in Ludlow, one of the best cottages that we have stayed in. Even the weather was good.
Ludlow itself is a gem of a town, with great historical buildings, and a castle fit for a queen.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, People with Disabilities

What a Fantastic cosy cottage

We had a wonderful New Year at Stone Cottage, the cottage was really cosy and had everything we needed and was very spacious, it was in a fabulous location and even had a pub that served great food within a minute walk!

ludlow was fantastic and a great historic place.

We even got a welcome pack!
