This attractive cottage is situated in the centre of the unspoilt village of Terrington just 12 miles north of York in the Howardian Hills. Extensively modernised, but still retaining its original character, and offering well furnished and comfortable family accommodation all year round. The cottage has been extended and houses a new kitchen fully fitted with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. There is a utility room with washer and tumble dryer. These areas are fully tiled with underfloor heating. In addition new carpet has been laid in the lounge, stairs, landing and all bedrooms . The fully enclosed garden has been redesigned for outdoor entertaining with a small Log cabin, garden furniture and a barbecue.

Our cottage is situated in the centre of the picturesque village of Terrington approximately 12 miles north of York in the Howardian Hills. The market towns of Helmsley, Malton & Pickering are all nearby. Terrington is easily reached from A1/M1, A19 and the A64 York/Scarborough road.

Notes: The cottage has recently been extended at the rear to provide a new kitchen/dining room and separate utility with a tiled floor and underfloor heating. There is a new built in oven, and microwave, an induction hob, integrated dishwasher, a free-standing fridge/freezer and a new Bosch washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility room. There is a piano and an open fire in the sitting room. There is a travel cot and a high chair in the bedroom. A Charcoal barbecue is available in the garden, but coal for the fire and charcoal for the barbecue are not provided.

The local village has a Post Office, stores and a pub serving lunches and evening meals. There is a children’s play area and tennis court nearby. As well as York, the towns of Helmsley, Malton and Pickering are close by. Local attractions include Castle Howard, many National Trust properties,the James Herriot experience in Thirsk, the North York Moors Railway, Flamingo Land for children and the Moors themselves. The area is ideal for walking and cycling enthusiasts, the village is on the Cleveland Way and good pubs and restaurants abound. For the music enthusiast, there is also a piano, which you are welcome to play.

This cottage was perfect for our needs, traditional from the outside and modern inside. The property was of a very high standard and it was clear that careful consideration had been taken by the owner to ensure that we were comfortable,
Location was good in a perfect yorkshire village with good local amentities such as villlage shop and pub (serving good food)
The cottage was ideally placed to visit the numerous local attractions within short distance
WE would without doubt recommend this cottage

Great cottage - pictures don't do it justice

My wife and our three children had a wonderful experience on a long weekend vacation to north Yorkshire. The cottage was immaculate, well maintained with completely remodeled modern, tasteful kitchen and wash room. Its definitively away from it all situated in a small village that has a single pub/restaurant, cafe, and small store that has a little bit of everything. Its about a 15 drive on small country roads to larger towns with things like a large grocery store and banks. Also currently there is no cell phone coverage in Terrington. We were overwhelmed with the small town friendliness and the next neighbor who assists with the rental is great. Terrington is about 30min drive from York over some small English road but also close to the Yorkshire moors/dales and we highly recommend the town of Pickering and the steam train. The owner we great in getting the cottage ready in time for our last minute trip. We would recommend this for anyone expect for folks with disabilities since all three bedrooms are up a fairly narrow staircase. For families their is a nice play ground in Terrington nearby and the staircase has a door on the bottom end.

nice place, good pub, no mobile signal , no street lights, very central too everywhere.could do with a long mirror upstairs.
