Further details for this holiday cottage rental in St Mabyn, United Kingdom

General: Becoven is superbly located in a quiet rural setting enjoying views across open countryside. We can be found between the typical Cornish villages of Blisland and St Mabyn, each having a pub, church and Post Office. St Mabyn has a well stocked grocery store also selling daily papers, fresh bread, home baked pasties and meat from the local butcher (by order). There are woodland walks less than a mile away but please note walking on adjoining land is restricted.

Eating out & places to visit locally: The Blisland Inn, on the edge of the moor is well known for its fine selection of real ales and won the CAMRA Pub of the Year, also serves good bar meals in/outdoors overlooking the village green. Horse riding across the moor is available at St Breward (3 miles) where you can also find The Old Inn with an excellent restaurant reputation. Why not try Rick Stein's famous Seafood Restaurant in the ancient fishing port of Padstow. A short ferry ride from there takes you to the stunning beaches of Rock/Daymer and St Enodoc golf course where the 12th Century church, the final resting place of Sir John Betjeman, nestles in the dunes. A short trip along the N Coast takes you to Port Isaac, Boscastle and Tintagel, famous for its legendary King Arthur's Castle. If the theatre is preferred, there is a choice of the Hall for Cornwall (Truro) or the Theatre Royal (Plymouth) which also hosts the National Marine Aquarium. Trout and salmon fishing available locally within the fishing season.

Cornwall Farm House

Dunsb Dunsborough Western Australia
Review Submitted: July 22, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We found this annex to be everything described on the web site and more. The owners were very friendly and helpful and yet respected your privacy. The location is close to all the attractions of Cornwall but quiet and relaxing. The house was spotless and very comfortable. large lounge room with a good quality TV and a big bedrooms upstairs. We highly recommend this property.

An unforgettable holiday.

Review Submitted: June 14, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
A fantastic little cottage, ideal for exploring the surrounding areas. It’s a lovely place to spend a holiday away from it all. The family Farmer is very helpful and friendly. On our arrival the cottage was above our expectations and the flowers in the living and bedroom were of an unknown hospitality and welcome. When I told Suzie that I had a special interest in steam engines she immediately came with a print from internet about a steamrally in a nearby village. Unfortunatly this rally was on the day that we had to leave for the ferry at Dover about 500 km by car. We hope to be going back some time.

Discovering Cornwall

Lanky Bucking hamshire
Review Submitted: January 28, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2008
This very attractive annex was all it was stated to be in the advertisement. It is most tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Every thing that was needed in the annex was to hand and I found the owner extremely helpful which is so useful if you don't know the area.
One big advantage is the position as it is near both the A30 and the A38 (if you don't mind some Cornish lanes!)
I found that you can reach both the north and south coasts equally easily as well as Bodmin Moor and many of the Tourist attractions.
I shall certainly come back again and recommend it to friends.

Country Getaway

Review Submitted: January 15, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2008
The perfect place for a getaway holiday for 2. Ideally situated for the Beach or Moorland walks and with lots of country pubs. The owner could not have been more friendly and has obviously put much thought into decorating the very comfortable accomodation, which was very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. I will be going back again and again.
