Three superb 4* barn conversions in 28 acres. Sleep 2, 4 & 6 ensuite
Between Bodmin and Dartmoor and 10 miles from South Cornwall’s beaches, Owl and Tree Barns and the Coach House sit in an idyllic 28 acre estate with mature gardens, woodland areas and fabulous views over the Lynher valley. Offering high quality (ETB 4*) accommodation in a tranquil location, they are fully equipped, from dishwashers to DVDs. Fittings are of a high standard, with solid oak flooring in the living and kitchen areas and teak or slate flooring in the bathrooms. Exposed beams, timber lintels and oak and slate ledges beautifully offset the white stonewalls. Centrally heated throughout, they are comfortably furnished with a mixture of antique and modern furniture, with original paintings and sculptures. Attention to detail is paramount, and touches like White Company bathrobes, goose down duvets and hardwood outdoor furniture provide a perfect environment for chilling out in comfort, while there is lots to do locally - whatever the weather - for both adults and children.

NEW for 2007: Adventure Playground for children |
At Home, Country Houses & Cornish gardens
At home, new for 2007 – a brand new adventure playground with 2 towers linked by a bridge; a trapeze, suspended tyre swing, baby swing and wooden swing. Get to the towers using the cargo net, climbing wall, or (for shorter legs) sturdy stairs. There is also a 3m wave slide and a sandpit. We are within easy reach of some spectacular National Trust properties and other gardens open to the public. The riverside estate and spectacular gardens of the 15th century Cotehele House is 4 miles away. The splendid Mount Edgcumbe (16th century), described by Samuel Pepys in 1683 as 'the most beautiful place as was ever seen' is some 10 miles drive. The award-winning lost gardens of Heligan and the stunning world-renowned Eden project are both less than an hour away, as is Lanhydrock, described as 'one of the most fascinating late 19th-century houses in England'. The cottages include in their information packs directions, opening times and contact details for these and other attractions.
Activities available locally
For the adventurous, 4x4 driving, clay pigeon shooting and archery are available in nearby Callington. Coarse fishing and pony riding are available locally, while nearby Siblyback offers fly fishing, windsurfing, sailing and canoeing. Walkers are spoilt for choice, from local walks in the Tamar and Lynher valleys, to the rugged delights of Bodmin and Dartmoor, as well as the coastal walks. For total relaxation, St Mellion offers a Spa, and has a creche for small children so you can have a stress-free massage. For children there is loads to do, from the Donkey Park at St Annes Chapel (which has a great indoor soft-play area and indoor rides for rainy days) to the Fairy Wood at Carnglaze Caverns (a fascinating old slate mine, open to the public). There is a monkey sanctuary and an owl sanctuary towards Looe, and Plymouth has a host of indoor and outdoor activities, including the ever popular National Marine Aquarium (complete with shark tank!).
Beaches
The South coast enjoys some beautiful coastline. The coast is about 10 miles away and there is a wide choice of beaches, from the more traditional golden sand bucket-and-spade type beaches of Cawsand and Kingsand, to the lovely long beach walks with interesting rock formations and rock pools of Downderry and Seaton. There is also a lovely country park at Seaton. If you want more rugged cliff top walks try Rame Head, where you can walk out to an abandoned chapel on the promontory. Alternatively, save your legs and view the coast from a boat. Boat cruises are available from Plymouth to Calstock, with regular tours of the Naval dockyards and a ferry to Saltash. There are also river cruises between Calstock, Bere Alston and Cotehele Quay and a cruise route to Weir Head and Morwellham Quay.
Other Activities Our own adventure playground
