Burnham-on-sea is an old-fashioned Victorian seaside town, much smaller than neighbouring Weston-super-mare. Set on award-winning blue flag golden sand-dunes, the High Lighthouse is an ideal place to spend a family seaside holiday and explore the Westcountry from. Only 2 miles from M5 Jctn 28 within 10 minutes you can be in Somerset cider country. There are hundreds of family friendly pubs selling good home-cooked food. Willow is grown for basket-making on the levels Somerset is dotted with pretty villages and cider farms. The challenging Berrow Links golf course is only a few hundred yards away. There's plenty to do; visit Glastonbury, famous for it's rock festival, mystical Tor and Abbey. Go shopping in Wells or the Roman city of Bath. Take the kids to the showcaves at Cheddar Gorge, a steam train at Minehead or see the aquarium & pier at Weston. Or there's windsurfing, sailing, sand-yachting donkey rides on the beach, glorious walks on the Mendips - or why not just fly a kite?
