This exceptionally well modernised, Cape Cod style family home, located in the village of Tregurrian offers an enormous amount of living accommodation for 2 or more families wishing to holiday in the increasingly popular Watergate Bay area, 3 miles north of Newquay. The house offers 4,000 square feet of internal space comprising 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, a huge modern kitchen diner with black granite work top and games room, complete with half size slate bed snooker table. The property is fitted out with solid oak wood flooring and slate tiles and limestone tiling in the bathrooms. Sleeping up to 14, it is ideal for family groups & is just a short walk from renowned Watergate Bay and its many amenities (including 15 Cornwall, the new Jamie Oliver restaurant). We have also built a large west facing decked terrace running along the front of the property above the garden that allows you to enjoy the sun late on into the evening.

Tregurrian is a small village 3 miles north of Newquay and 9 miles south of Padstow. It is conveniently located for the local airport (servicing Monarch, Ryanair, Flybe and Air South West), situated 2 miles inland. More importantly it is just a short walk from Watergate Bay and its surf beach. Activities run by the Extreme Academy include surfing, sand yachting and kite surfing. The increasingly bustling Watergate Bay comprises 2 hotels, 2 pubs and several restaurants. Further attractions north include coastal walks, the Bedruthan Steps, the picturesque and popular villages of Padstow, Rock and Polzeath and many golf courses. South lies Newquay and its abundant nightlife. A little further inland are the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, which are easily accessible by car.

Very comfortable accommodation in a good location.

Three generations of my family stayed in the blue house for a week in August. The accommodation is extremely spacious (my dad kept getting lost!). Clean and reasonably well maintained (eg. couldn't get the temperature on the wine fridge cool enough and the tumble drier was very temperamental). Plenty of cutlery, crockery, glasses, cooking utensils, etc and 2 dishwashers - very useful in a house this size. Everything you needed to cook for a large group (a couple of small saucepans would be useful though) and a dining table that seats 12. Very comfortable beds and sea-views from most bedrooms.
The pool table proved to be a big hit with everyone - and very useful when it rained!
There are lots of beautiful beaches in the area - we walked to Padstow along the coast path (a bit longer than we anticipated!) and Newquay. Watergate Bay is only a fifteen minute walk and the surf lessons (booked at the Phoenix bar) were excellent.
We had a fantastic dinner at Fifteen Cornwall in Watergate Bay (booking essential) and there are plenty of other places to eat not far from the house. The restaurant in the harbour in Newquay also does lovely food.
In summary - a great place for a large group to stay.
Just one thing though - this is the first self-catering accommodation in the UK we have stayed in where there are no eggcups!

The Blue House, Watergate Bay

We have just recently spent 1 weeks holiday in this accomodation with 16 members of our family. The house was superb with spacious rooms throughout. The kitchen/dining room was a very impressive size, big enough to accomodate all of us in one sitting. Our family consisted of many age groups and there was plenty rooms in the house to please all. The decking area ( with BBQ) provided many relaxing evenings in the sun, with the garden big enough for the youngsters to play. The property was very clean and well equiped with everything you would need. I would definately recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in cornwall as the local attractions are beautiful and we found this location a good central point for our day trips out around cornwall.
The only negative feedback we can give is that it can be quite a difficult walk from the beach, up the hill to the house with a pushchair (but hey..thats cornwall for you : ) )
Overall a fantastic holiday and one in which the whole family of all ages enjoyed. Would definately return again.

Fabulous!

We stayed in the property at over Easter 2009 - it is absolutely lovely. There were 13 of us (8 adults, 5 children) - sufficient space for us all to be together in the living room and PLENTY of space for everyone in the kitchen. There are enough bathrooms for everybody, there are faulous sea views from the front bedrooms, the grounds were big enough for our annual Easter egg hunt, the boys could play pool (or is it snooker), and as long as you're reasonably fit and keep your eyes out for the traffic, it's not too far to walk down to the beach/bar(s).

Fabulous location - we drove down from London, but one of our party flew down on the Sunday and the airport is only 5 minutes away. We look our bikes and it's not too far to Wadebridge to the Camel Trail.

I can definitely recommend the property and would love to return.

Excellent location

The property is exactly as described on the website. The house itself is spacious and clean. We used the property for a family 60th birthday celebration and the age range was 14 months to 60 years. The house had something for everyone. It is well equipped for young children (highchair, cot, etc.) and the pool table provides extra entertainment in the evening.

Having said all that, we spent very little time in the house, as the location is it's best feature. Down a steep hill to Watergate bay beach or in the car to explore the rest of the north Cornwall coast. We also took a day trip south to St Ives and the Tate gallery, etc.

I would recomend this property to my friends with children and my parents are considering renting it again with some of their own friends.

AMAZING - Luxury House with everything you need

Thanks for an absolutely amazing time. The house was PERFECT! Such a nice place, had very high expectations/hopes and it surpassed all of them!

The house has everything you need, with cupboards full of crockery and cooking equipment, the rooms are clean and modern, arrive and start relaxing straight away....

The location is fantastic, a short walk to the beach (half a mile) where there are a few very fancy but quiet bars/restaurants, including Jamie Olivers Fifteen restaurant which i fully recommend, we went for lunch and it was great value and great food.

Also beautiful costal walks and views within easy reach.

Can't recommend highly enough, hope to go back one day!
