Windward is a beautiful self-catering holiday house in a super location in the up-market village of Ovingdean just a few minutes in a car to Brighton Marina and the town centre. The whole of the rear of the house and the terrace look right out to sea and there is a pretty walk down to the beach from the end of the huge garden. From there you can meander along the coastal path either to the Marina with it's great restaurants and bars or in the other direction, to the historic smugglers' village of Rottingdean which is very popular for Sunday lunches. The house is really spacious with five big bedrooms and three bathrooms. The living areas of the house are open-plan with a comfortable sofa area flowing in to the dining area and then through to a large, homely kitchen with a trendy green AGA. With the patio doors open, you can wander in and out onto the terrace and this set-up is just ideal for groups. There is also wireless internet, LCD TV with HDFreesat, home cinema and parking.

Windward is in a fabulously relaxing village yet only minutes into Brighton town centre. Brighton is a fascinating town which is extremely fashionable yet also quirky at the same time. The Lanes area is made up of cobbled streets with tiny 'tardis style' shops selling just about anything you can think of. The restaurant and cafe scene is on a par with London and culture just oozes from every theatre and gallery. At the same time, Brighton is a beach resort with people swimming and sunbathing and it also has the largest Marina in the UK. You can walk down to the Marina from Windward along the coastal path and find plenty going on. There are great places to eat out next to the yachts, shopping, nightclubs, a casino, bowling, cinema and frequent organised events such as speed-boat racing, comedy week etc. Going a bit further afield, you can drive to historic Lewes and Tunbridge Wells, to the opera at Glyndebourne or over to Thorpe Park or Drusillas to thrill the children.

The bed is a super-king size and there is a good sized en-suite bathroom with a large shower. Bedroom 2 is enormous and has a king size leather bed, TV, plus tucked away bunk beds and views of the garden and the sea. Bedroom 3 has a triple bed (double with single over) and a single sofa bed which can be opened if needed and fabulous sea views Bedroom 4 has a double sofa bed and bunk beds with views of the Downs. Hen weekend at Windward

We booked Westward for a hen weekend. The standard of accommodation was excellent - very clean and well maintained, spacious with all the mod cons. The house also had excellent provisions for a large number of guests. There were 12 of us staying at the house, but we never felt under each other's feet. The garden (with table tennis) and terrace was a lovely spot to sit in the evening and have a BBQ (the views are great too).

Westward is a short taxi journey from the centre of Brighton and was an ideal location for our weekend. The owner was very helpful and customer service overall was excellent. We had an excellent weekend and have recommended the house to several friends. We look forward to returning ourselves too.

Windward made the hen weekend extra special and the hen loved it!!!

Excellent place to stay

Everyone out of our group of 14, travelling to Brighton from Vienna for a business conference enjoyed the stay at the house. The property is clean and nice, offers everything you would expect to feel right at home plus a great view. There is also a ping pong table in the garden and high speed WIFI internet access - both of which we used extensively. You can always take a walk or run in the inviting scenic countryside around the house.

The property is only a short taxi (or bus) ride away from the Brighton city center and about 10 minutes walk to the shore.
A perfect place for a large group to stay - highly recommended.

Hen weekend in Brighton

23 hens and a bride-to-be looking for a house in Brighton, you would think that would be tricky?? But we hit the jackpot, we were all so impressed with this house. Everything was perfect for our large group with really fab, clean rooms and everything so high spec! Terrace was the cherry on the cake, space for all of us to sit and enjoy the sunshine oh and the seaview - what a bonus! Location was perfect also, not in the thick of the crowds but only a short taxi ride away. All in all, a great weekend. Thanks.

Amazing house for any occasion!

We rented this house for our wedding and we absolutely loved it. Everyone was simply stunned by the view from terrace and all the space that house has to offer. There were 18 of us and it never felt crowded. Dough ceremony and reception took place in the town centre, there were plenty space for after party.
The house has everything you might need for every occasion, from champagne glasses and BBQ to lawn games and internet. None felt bored during our 5 day stay. Everybody had a very good time playing games, swimming in the sea and dancing in the house and in the clubs of Brighton.
Clean and nicely decorated this house goes perfectly in line with excellent service that we received from owner and manager of the property. I definitely recommend this house as excellent place to stay never mind are you celebrating or just spending holiday.
The house is situated within 7-10 minutes taxi ride from town centre, plus there is a bus stop near by which is 10-15 minutes bus ride from centre.
Owner's Response: We love to have groups celebrating special occasions at the house and try our best to make everything go well for them....

GORGEOUS HOLIDAY HOME & PERFECT LOCATION

Even though I was impressed by the photos on the website, I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered the property with my own eyes (the photos don’t do it justice at all). The house is gorgeous, furnished with taste and it has everything you need for a sunny or a rainy day. The house is modern, clean & well maintained. Good storage space too.
The view from the terrace and garden is stunning. The terrace/garden is south-west facing which means you get direct sun light for the best part of the day!
The location is excellent, it’s only a 10 minutes drive from Brighton Town Centre and a 15-20 minutes walk to the sea side. There is a golf course just nearby for those who like to play.
We received excellent customer service. Helen, the owner, was very helpful and always answered my questions/queries promptly.
I would recommend this property anytime, I haven’t seen such a lovely place in a long time! It suits any occasions from family gatherings to hen parties.
It’s perfect for big groups. I hired the cottage for a hen do (12 girls) and everyone was very impressed. We had such a good time that we did not leave the cottage all week-end, apart from when we took a walk to the sea side.
If you are looking for a house for a big group in the Brighton area then look no further, this is the one (I swear I was not paid to say this, I genuinely mean it).
