A memorable visit to Florida

We went as a party of 6 adults (3 couples) totally "on spec", not knowing the area, the house or had any reccomendation, so sort of "in from the cold".
We arrived at Orlando airport, picked up our vehicle a Chevy Van which was huge but great for the party and all the luggage and followed the excellent directions to the house, which we found was in a small gated community. Well you know how you feel after 12 hours travelling and hassled at airports etc; just a bit jaded, and after taking one look at the house we felt great. The first impression was that the place was immaculate and had been left in first rate order for us, with carefully folded towels and clean and airy rooms. After a smll skirmish with the "Pool Alarm" ( if you open a door on to the pool, an alarm sounds and you have to push a button to stop it), we found it eventually.....I know, I know I should have read the manual! we settled in round the pool and rested. The boys were despatched just up the road to a great supermarket and came back with the evening meal ready to prepare, a few bottles of good wine and a blow up aligator for the pool!
Our whole ten days included Cape Canaveral, Disney, Airboat rides, walking on adventure trails and a host of other Florida "stuff" which was great. We returned to base every night and either ate in, catering for ourselves in the most excellent kitchen or having a take away or dining out very locally which was very convenient.
The house was always good to come back to, confortable, very well appointed, air conditioned just to the right degree, with the most excellent en suit facilities. We did not have any kids with us but we could see that most kids would be in seventh heaven with pool and table football, TV's and TV gaming rooms.
There is a host of things to do around and about, depending on what floats your boat. I went to Kissimee Airport and flew in a Harvard trainer, the "girls" went to a huge shopping precint with the "designer outlets". What ever you want, you can more or less find and to return to a comfortable base without the hussle and bussle of Hotel environments was for us bliss. Every single member of our party would thoroughly reccommend it to you. Not one of us wanted to leave and we would come back again next week if we could. We thank both the owners and the local agents for an outstanding stay, it was worth every penny and we considered that in every way it was perfect.
