Fantastic family holiday at Misty Palms

Our recent holiday in Orlando (August 2009), was made even better by staying at Misty Palms. We have no hesitation in recommending this villa to anyone who wants to spend time in the Orlando area; it is particularly suitable for families and larger groups, and far nicer than staying in a hotel. We had no problem finding the villa, and it was even bigger and better-equipped than we expected. Our children (9-year old twins) were thrilled with the swimming pool, and we all spent lots of time in there cooling off. The villa was spotlessly clean, and well-maintained. There was lots of spare bedding, and towels, including beach towels. We didn't require the high chairs or travel cots, but they would be very useful for families with younger children. The washing machine and dishwasher are invaluable! The location of the villa is very convenient for Disneyworld - 10 to 15 minutes, but all other attractions are easily reached. It took less than 20 min. to get to Seaworld. There are 2 supermarkets nearby, and plenty of shopping malls and outlet malls within a 20 min. drive. We enjoyed all the Disney parks, especially Animal Kingdom, and the 2 Disney water parks. Seaworld is also brilliant. Downtown Disney is great in the evenings, but you need to book most restaurants. We recommend Raglan Road for good food, atmosphere and great live Irish music! Our best evening was at Cirque du Soleil - worth every cent! There are plenty of family restaurants within a 10 min. drive of the villa. Most are chain restaurants such as the Outback and Houlihans, and they are fine, but for something with a bit more character, we recommend trying some of the restaurants in Celebration town (15 min. drive). There are some cute little shops too, a small cinema, an ice-cream parlour...! We want to live there! All in all, Misty Palms is a superb base for this kind of a holiday. Chris and Pauline, the owners, give an excellent service. We will definitely be recommending their villa to friends, and hopefully returning ourselves sometime!
