It is equipped with a variety of outside furniture, a TV and barbecue. It is a delight to sit out and watch the colourful birds and butterflies and squirrels. Use of a PC [for games and Internet] is included in the rental.

Notes to the rental rates

• Florida sales tax at 6.5% and Tourist Development tax at 6% charged on above rates.
  A $100 booking deposit is required which becomes the security deposit and is returnable on departure by our agent. The full rental fee is required at least 4 weeks before commencement of the rental period.
  Bookings can commence on any day of the week and additional days added at a pro rata rate.
  
• Thanksgiving Week is $800 for the week.
  Daytona Speed and Bike Weeks are $900 per week

A Great Location

You don’t need to stay on top of the theme parks to enjoy them and we think it is much nicer to be up here in delightful Deltona where there are additional attractions nearby. It only takes an hour on the freeway to Universal and we have no trouble getting there for opening time. The east side of Deltona is 20 miles from the coast via a quiet road through a nature reserve to Oakhill where there is the site of an Indian settlement going back thousands of years. For a beach you have to go a few miles up the coast to New Smyrna, which was the largest British colony in America around 1770.One plus factor if you are flying into Sanford is the ease of finding us from there. You come out of the airport onto a quiet country road with no immediate hassle of a freeway interchange. The directions to the house are simplicity themselves.

Other Attractions

The JFK Space Centre is just over an hour away. Daytona Beach, the 'birthplace of speed' with its famous racetrack and America`s favourite beach is only half an hour away. There is also the novelty of driving and parking on the beach . St Augustine is an essential place to visit. It is the oldest continuously settled town in N America(1565) and it is beautifully preserved. Silver Springs is another must. It is about 60 miles away on mostly traffic free roads. It is Florida’s original theme park. With its massive clear springs many films including the original Tarzan films, were made there and it is now famed for its glass bottom boat trips. Blue Springs State Park is the most popular local attraction. In Winter it is the a refuge for the Manatees but its boardwalk along the river up to the massive spring with its crystal clear water with its turtles and wide variety of fish is well worth a visit at any time of the year. Boat trips on the St Johns River can also be made from here.

Finale

Our lovely holiday home, we feel, is ideal for families who want to see more of Florida than the theme parks particularly if they want to get away from the tourist dominated area around Disney and to meet the real Floridians. It should also appeal to more mature visitors and also families making a second visit to Florida who might prefer the less developed more relaxing lifestyle of this area. We only provide the basic broadcast TV service(TVs in all bedrooms plus lounge, patio and kitchen) but having the internet we feel is a much bigger plus factor. All the BBC radio channels (and many more) are available and you don’t have to listen to them live you can select your favourite programme anytime after it has gone out and replay it.
