This area is, without doubt, a golfers paradise with over 50 courses to choose from within the Sarasota / Bradenton area ! Four of the very best are within 5 - 10 minutes ie Stoneybrook , River Strand, Waterlefe and The Links each of which is well worth playing and has plenty of wildlife !
Green fees vary by season / time of day (often cheaper after 2pm) but are very good ($30-$80).
Stoneybrook: you're on it, the villa overlooks a lake and the challenging 5th hole! A real test of golf played through mature 'Preserve' landscape, lakes and ponds. The Links at Greenfield Plantation: good public course just down the road with open fairways but plenty of water / out of bounds.
Waterlefe: an absolute must! It really is a challenge for all levels of golfers and offers 5 different sets of tees.There are some unforgettable holes carved along side the scenic Manatee River. River Strand: Although new, already 27 holes of some of the best golf in the area with the latest 9 holes winding their way alongside the Manatee River.
