Vanderbilt Beach is a neighborhood near the Gulf of Mexico (and its fabulous beaches) in North Naples. Sunny and mild weather year-round makes Southwest Florida a holiday paradise. Our guests enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities, many of which are focused on the beach, but other opportunities for nature study are diverse and remarkable. Try birding at Sanibel Island or Corkscrew Audubon Sanctuary, spot alligators at the Big Cypress, or boat through the vast and mysterious Everglades. Peter is a guide/naturalist and if you like he can give you tips on where to go to see wildlife and nature at its best. Recent guests have enjoyed trips in our boat to remote and seldom seen beaches for shelling, walking, swimming and picnicking. Ask Cate or Peter for more information.

This property provides an economical and warm base from which to explore the variety of activities- cultural, recreational, and economical (amazing shopping adventures according to my wife!) - that Naples and SW Florida have to offer. The house is cozy, well maintained and can easily accomodate 6 adults. The owners are local and are fabulous. If anything should break down, they will be there within a day to deal with your concerns. We have been renting here for 7 years, and would recommend this property to anyone. The area is one in transition, as people are buying older properties and replacing them with new homes, but you can't beat the location. You can walk, bike or drive to the beach, or drive to the state park with its unspoiled gulfront only 5 minutes from the house. There are upscale grocery stores at the end of the street; two hotels, The Ritz and La Playa, within waking distance. You are 7 minutes from the Naples Philharmonic and Waterside Mall...20 minutes from the excitement of Historic Naples, Fifth Ave shopping, and the newer 3rd St shopping area with restaurants and galleries. If you are looking for an economical, clean, comfortable property in Naples, you won't find one better than this. BH
