More about Florida Central Gulf Coast

Make a holiday rental, or holiday home on the South Central Gulf Coast your home away from home

The Gulf Coast of the USA stretches around the Gulf of Mexico. Florida, the ‘Sunshine State’, has 600 miles of sandy beaches on the Gulf Coast, with shallow seas and soft sand and dazzling sunsets. The south central Gulf Coast is a haven for holiday makers looking for a sensational beach holiday away from the development and crowds of the Atlantic Coast. There are very few Gulf Coast hotels, but many Gulf Coast holiday homes and rental villas.

Places to holiday on the South Central Gulf Coast, Florida

The Venice, Sarasota region of Florida is famed for its spectacular white beaches, unbelievable scuba diving and exceptional scuba diving. There is a huge amount to be enjoyed here and amongst the hotels are some fabulous luxury self-catering holiday villas. The huge snowbird colonies and shark teeth found in the sand have also raised the profile of the Sarasota/Venice area, and it has become a leading tourist centre.

Charlotte Harbour is the second largest bay in Florida after Tampa Bay. It is Florida’s main eco-tourism centre, away from the large crowds and beach resort development associated with much of Florida’s glorious coastline. Top class sailing and fishing have attracted many, whilst the trails through the five national parks, including hundreds of miles of canoe trails have made Charlotte Harbour a unique haven for nature tourism.

The St Petersburg, Clearwater area is the ultimate beach location in Florida. Voted the second best beach in the whole of the USA, Caladesi Beach offers 35 miles of spectacularly fine white sandy beaches, and eight barrier islands for scuba diving.

Golf is a hugely popular activity in this part of Florida, and there are enough challenging courses to make taking a Gulf Coast holiday villa a real treat.
