Walk to the Beach and watch those magical Sunsets over Sanibel Island and the Gulf of Mexico. Our detached property, is situated on a prestigious no through road, on Fort Myers Beach ( Estero Island ) and is just 500 feet, yes 500 feet from seven miles of sugar sand beachfront. The property backs on to a tidal saltwater canal and our Boat Dock, which our 28 feet x 14 feet Swimming Pool overlooks. You can also Walk 200 metres to a Publix grocery store and 250 metres to a Marina for Boat hire, which can be moored in our Dock. The gentle sloping shoreline, calm waters and relaxed atmosphere makes Fort Myers Beach a favourite with everyone. During the winter months the climate is warmer than just a few miles north on the Gulf Coast and during the hot summer months being so close to the sea you enjoy the gentle Gulf breezes. Fort Myers Beach is Estero Island being some 7 miles long and a half mile wide, we are towards the quieter south end, the north end being more commercial

The Island of Fort Myers Beach being some seven miles long, is situated some 5 miles form Sanibel & Captiva Islands and 10 miles to Naples, here you will find some of the best beaches in Florida, not to be missed are the beaches of Lovers Key (3 miles from Villa) and Barefoot Beach (5 miles from Villa).The wildlife in our area is amazing, with Dolphin, Osprey, Bald Eagle, Egret etc. often being observed, including Manatee. All of which have been seen from our Villa and/or Boat Dock at various times, it is also less than a one hour drive to the Everglades. The Edison and Ford historical winter homes are some ten miles away and shopping Malls in every direction, such as Tanger Outlet Stores, Edison mall, Miromar Outlet Stores. Homely and unpretentious in a fantastic position

This bungalow is in a super location, literally 3 mins walk from a white sandy beach. The pool is great, peaceful and clean and looks out on to the dock where you can see manatees and numerous birds from your sun lounger. In the villa the kitchen and bathrooms could do with a little updating, however it does feel very home from home with plenty of spare towels, inflatables, fishing kit, cool box etc.and as you spend so much time outside everything is perfectly adequate. There are some great places to visit in the vicinty; we enjoyed fishing off Fort Myers Beach pier (yellow tail snapper, catfish and snook), swimming and shelling at Lovers Key, shopping at Coconut Grove (?) Mall and eating at the many lovely restaurants in the area. Our favourites were The Bistro next to the nearby Publix (need to book) and Charlies Steakhouse Grill down the road.
Getting to Fort Myers from Miami takes 3hrs and for most of that it is through the Everglades so there are no facilities or petrol. Make sure you take water, it gets hot!
If, like us, you arrive late at night, it is very dark entering the villa as the light switches dont work, you need to put a lamp on!
Would I recommend this place? Yes, very much so, however we did not receive any communication from the new owners so dont expect a receipt for your payment!
