Photos and Description of this Wangenbourg-Engenthal holiday house A self-catering, independent fully equipped rental home for 5-7 persons

The holiday home is not a typical French “gite de France” that contains just old furniture and cranky beds just to name a few of the typical “gite” characteristics. To a certain extent, it is a newly furbished self-catering home with decent kitchen and bathroom facilities, central heating and beds to accommodate any person. To assure a pleasant atmosphere, modern furniture is mixed with older ones, a fireplace for wood is installed and typical amenities like a dishwasher, a washing machine, HIFI installation, television with satellite receiver, DVD player etc. are all included. The holiday home is fully independent of the owner’s home, even though both are located under the same roof. It has its own entrance, its own terrace with an astonishing view over the 'Engenthal ' with access to the park and its own (outside) parking facility. Due to the location of the home, the entrance road is very easy accessible.

Many activities can be practised throughout the year directly from the holiday home such as ‘Nordic Walking’, regular walking, mountain biking (from easy to extreme routes) as well as cross-country skiing and sledging during the winter period. The famous “route des vins” (wine road) starts only 10 minutes driving from Engenthal and will guide you throughout the whole Alsace (Bas-Rhin and Haut-Rhin) along beautiful villages, vineyards and many local producers (with wine tasting facilities) as well as numerous restaurants to enjoy the local wines and dishes. Likewise, the fantastic city of Strasbourg is only 40 minutes driving from the holiday home and has many cultural, historical and shopping amenities that will satisfy any interest.

A Tasty Place To Sample Alsace Delights.

The out side of the building still looks like a restaurent but it hides a very comfortable gite.very good range of equpment and comfortable beds and seating. Very clean and well maintained throughout. Owner welcoming but does not bother you at all. Information folder provided on attractions of the area and facilities in close villages/towns was comprehensivevillage is quiet but has good amenities of restaurants.butcher.bank and 2 shops easy to walk to.the patio is nice but at present no door direct to this so need to walk out front door around side,can pass meals through window.no other dislikes
We enjoyed our stay and will certainly return again.
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
