A High Class Detached Barn Conversion, completed in 2005, affording very comfortable accommodation for 6 people. The lounge, with its large glass doors offer panoramic views of the Auvergne countryside, whilst the log burner ensures winter nights are warm and cosy. A well equipped oak kitchen with 4 ring cooker, fridge- freezer, microwave and washing machine provide the usual comforts expected of this standard of property but with the charm and appeal of rural France. The bedrooms all have vaulted ceilings and exposed beams giving a true feeling of rural living, with windows views to the countryside and Velux windows ensuing plenty of light. A bath and separate shower cubicle provide versatility in the newly fitted Bathroom, whilst the garden with a patio area provides the opportunity of dining outside whilst enjoying the wonderful countryside setting.

La Petite Grange is situated in Vrolle, a small hamlet 2km from St Therence and around 15 km south of Montlucon. La Petite Grange enjoys a totally rural location but within a few minutes drive from larger villages & towns such as Marcillat En Combraille, Commentry and Neris Les Bain. A wide range of activities are available in the surrounding area including trout fishing, biking, canoeing and wonderful walks. Alternatively, enjoy spa treatments in the Spa Town of Neris Les Bain.

Lovely barn conversion in the heart of rolling hills. Shopping is about 1/2 hour away. Within 1-2 hours of many great cities (Limoges, Vichy, Clermont-Ferrand, Bourges). Authentic Auvergne restaurant just 5 minutes away. Great place to get away from it all! Perfect for a family. We really enjoyed our stay and we hope to return again in the future.

Stayed at this accomodation in the last week in June 2008. This is a very nicely renovated property with lots of space and a small garden to the side with picnic area. The kitchen is especially nice, with all the required equipment and is large enough to accomodate a dining table comfortably. It also has UK TV (if you need to have a bit of down time in front of the TV). It is situated in a quiet rural area of Allier and although Vroll itself doesn't have any shops or bars (it is a hamlet of residential dwellings), the next little village St. Therence is within 20 - 30 mins walk along country lanes and does have a bar and restaurant. Other shops etc.. are a short drive away. If you want a peaceful holiday, this is a lovely area with most of the main places to visit around the top of auvergne roughly an hours drive (i.e Vichy, Clermont, puy de dome etc..) - so good base for touring round.

We would thoroughly recommend La Petite Grange

We enjoyed our stay in Summer 2006 although we haven't been back to France yet we would thoroughly recommend La Petite Grange as a base for touring the area. The building is a recently converted barn which is now a spacious well appointed holiday home.

The accommodation was very clean, tidy and pleasantly furnished. It would suit someone looking for peace and quiet who enjoys the countryside. The kitchen is well equipped and a barbecue is also supplied for cooking in the warm summer evenings.

The local contact Brian was very helpful and friendly but he didn't intrude on us. He also willingly booked on his PC further accommodation in France for us.
