The house is set in 0.27 acres, with lovely views across the valley of the river Sioule. It offers the following accommodation: kitchen / dining area equipped with electric oven, hob (3 gas rings, 1 electric), fridge / freezer and microwave oven. Comfortable sitting room with tiled floor, log burning fire and 3 piece suite. French windows lead to a terrace and gardens. WC. Shower room. Bedroom 1 – double bed. Bedroom 2 – 1 double and 1 single bed. Outside there is a sun terrace, barbecue, swimming pool (10m x 5m, 1.8m depth).

“Les Bouilles” lies within the beautiful Gorges de la Sioule. The Sioule river runs for 150km, passing through the Auvergne, and brings to the area the chance to enjoy bathing, fishing and canoeing, kayaking or to walk along its banks to observe the wildlife – the roe-deer and wild boar which come to refresh themselves there. You can relax and enjoy a meal or a drink at one of the local bars and restaurants. Ebreuil (approximately a 10 minute drive from Les Bouilles) offers you the opportunity to play tennis or practice your horsemanship. The richness of the fauna and flora of this valley, added to the cultural heritage of the area makes for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Les Bouilles is about 6 hours by car from the ferry terminal and tunnel at Calais. The route from Calais is straightforward being all on excellent French motorways which never seem unduly clogged. By air the nearest 'Ryan Air' airports are at St Etienne or Limouge. Both are about 2 to 2.5 hours from the house.

Notes: The house is set on one level allowing good access for all. It opens up onto a gravelled terrace overlooking the garden and private swimming pool. (The swimming pool is available during the summer months). A good sized BBQ is built alongside a covered patio area. The terrace and patio both enjoy lovely views across the valley. Winter heating is by a cosy, log burning, enclosed fireplace and/or by effective electric heaters.

Local Attractions: Nestling in a quiet valley Les Bouilles tempts you to relax. You can simply sit on the terrace soaking up the summer sunshine in the midst of great scenery or you can be more active. Within walking distance of Les Bouilles you can take part in organised kayaking expeditions. Good walks run through the wooded slopes and open pastures of the Sioulle valley and the Chateau at nearby Chiouvny looks out across the spectacular gorge through which the Sioulle flows. The gorge can best be explored along local and very quiet roads which run through the valley. The woods and lanes behind the house offer great birdwatching and botanical interest. Bars and restaurants are available in nearby villages and all essential shopping is available in Ebrueil (6 miles) and Gannatt (10 miles).

Spas and Volcanoes: The sophisticated and historic town of Vichy is about 20 miles away. This provides wonderful shopping, spa and cultural opportunities. To the south of Les Bouilles (30 minute drive) are stunning landscapes fashioned by volcanic eruptions millions of years ago. This 'Volcano Region' comprises mountains, craters, valleys and hills. It provides wonderful walking in the summer and in winter cross country and downhill skiing. For the more adventurous paragliding is available. 'Volcania' is a major visitor centre and tourist attraction telling the story of how volcanoes formed and shaped the area. Swimming is available in many water filled volcanic craters.

Other Activities: Lots of good local walks, kayaking nearby, swimming in volcanic lakes and within reach of winter ski resorts.
