Full of antique furniture found in the Region. 3 bedrooms for 6 persons; can be expanded to accommodate 10. A suite downstairs with Jacuzzi; 2 bedrooms upstairs. Notes to the rental rates

• Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner.
  
• The rates given apply to rent the cottage, with an occupancy of a maximum of 6 people. It includes cost of heating, electric, and water.
  
• Payment in Euros is acceptable. The cottage is available to rent from Saturday to Saturday. To assist changeover, we specify a departure time of 10 am and an arrival time after 4 pm. 100 pounds non-refundable deposit (for one week bookings) 120 pounds non-refundable deposit (for 2 week bookings) is required on booking with the balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. If booking your holiday within 8 weeks of commencement then total payment is due. We recommend that you have personal travel insurance as cancellation charges apply. We can assist with car hire and ferry bookings if required, please ask for details of discounts. Also for an additional supplement we can collect you from the nearest airports please ask for further details if interested.

Cultural Activities

Le Domaine des Chaatrds is situated in the heart of France near the Troncais Forest, the largest oak plantation in Europe. We are closed to the borders of Burgundy and Central France. The Auvergne has several hundred volcanoes - the Puy de Dome and the Cantal are well known, the latter being the second is the largest volcano in Europe. The region offers two Nature Parks which offers perfect walking and unique plant and animal life. The immediate surrounding area offers numerous lakes for fishing, bathing and canoeing, many beautiful Chateaux, Castles, medieval villages (Bourbon, Souvigny) and spas. The beautiful river Allier runs through the region and for Formula One racing and superbike enthusiasts, the Magny-Cours race circuit is about 1/2 hours drive away. For rail enthusiasts the Cevenal line. Moulins (15 km far) welcomes 'the scene Costume Museum' created by Christian Lacroix the French Couturier.

Formula One and Motor Bike Races

At only 30 miles away, the Formula One Racing Circuit at Magny-Cours is easily accessible. The French Grand Prix is held here every year. Also held at the circuit of Magny-Cours is the annual Bol d'Or motorbike endurance event (usually during September) and the World Championship Superbike event held in September/October. Not to be missed for serious bikers! Our accommodation at the Chatards is biker friendly. There is also a racing circuit at Lurcy-Levis (half hour) where you can enter your own vehicle for racing or why not get a group of you to hire the circuit? Please telephone us for further details.

Skiing Information:

We are open all the year round, and do have visitors during the winter months. Auvergne is pretty in the winter and has lot to offer during the snow season. Cross country skiing and downhill skiing is available in the ski resorts of Mont Dore, Super Besse and the Bourbonnais mountains near Vichy. Travel to these resorts is possible from La Platriere, taking in average 1 1/2 hours drive. So take the benefit of our low season prices to visit these resorts and enjoy winter fun. Also available at Puy de Dome is snow tobogganing and sledging. A great fun time for the family! For the keen angler, why not try something different by ice-fishing in the crater lakes of the volcanoes!

Golf Information:

We created a savage golf among 150 ha park. You will hit the ball between wild animals, forests and lake. 11 greens are available. There is also an 18 holes golf 5 km far. There is an excellent championship 18 hole golf-course at Magny-Cours which is 45 km (30 miles).
