This pretty apartment at one end of our farmhouse (see property 7906) has its own private courtyard and garden. It is in a true rural setting with 2 villages within 15 minutes walk. One of these has a bakery. The Allier is an area of France that has not yet been reached by tourism. The countryside is gentle and rolling with forests, lakes and rivers. Locally you can quietly explore the maze of country lanes, past pastures where the ubiquitous white Charolais cattle graze. The flora and fauna here are both abundant and spectacular. Bird watchers recently spotted 40 species during a 4 day trip. The nearby Foret de Troncais is the largest oak forest in Europe. There are medieval villages, chateaux and golf courses, whilst the St Pourcain vineyards and the dramatic scenery of the Parc de Volcans make for wonderful day trips. The ancient town of Montluçon is nearby and sophisticated Vichy, with its famous water sport lake, is 40k away.

Les Crebins is in a rural hamlet mid way between 2 small villages. It is 8km from the small towns of Commentry and Montmarault. The ancient city of Montlucon is half an hour away. The drive down from Le Havre takes 5 to 6 hours, while Calais is 8 hours approximately.
