Birds and fish abound here, and as an added option a 4hp fishing boat can be supplied to make the most of the setting. The chalet has been totally refurbished to a very high standard of comfort and charm. High quality furnishings mix with simple luxuries to provide the ultimate cosy escape. Cited as one of the most scenic spots in Finistere, the property is situated on the riverfront at the end of a small country lane that leads to the river Aulne near the 'Pont de Terenez'. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, near the sea, the chalet was one of the last properties to obtain building permission in this area of the Parc Regional d'Armorique. From the chalet you can walk the footpaths, explore by boat the waterfront restaurants, villages and oyster farms. If you can pull yourself away from this magical spot, you are very well placed to make the most of the numerous attractions this area has to offer. The superb white sandy beaches & stunning coastline of the Crozon Peninsula are just a short drive, with the towns of Morgat & Cameret easily accessible. For supplies, the 'petit cite de caractere' of Le Faou with its shops and restaurants is only 5 miles away. Slightly further afield are the medieval towns of Locronan and cathedral city of Quimper.

Notes: The chalet has undergone extensive refurbishment over the winter of 2006/7. This includes a new hand built kitchen and 2 new bathrooms. Downstairs there is a spacious open plan living area with log burning fire, and comfortable sofas, leading off from this is the kitchen and dining area. The two bathrooms are downstairs. A fairly steep staircase leads to the three bedrooms. There is a master bedroom with large french doors that open up onto the balcony, a further double and twin room. All the bedrooms have natural flooring, comfortable beds with white cotton bedlinen. With prior arrangement a small, fishing boat can be hired for £100 per week with a 4hp four stroke engine. This allows you to make full use of the river. You will able to fish or bird watch from the spot of your choice, or simply go exploring or picnicking with the family. Also provided is a kayak, to get you even closer to nature as it slips silently through the water. And finally, a high quality AHD windsurfer.

Getting There is easy. Situated midway between Brest and Quimper and only 8kms from the dual carriageway. The chalet is about 30 minutes from Brest Airport with good links with Flybe to Birmingham, Southampton and Exeter and Ryanair flights to Luton airport. Roscoff is a little less than an hours drive away for ferry crossings to Plymouth, and St Malo just over 2 hours for crossings to St Malo. The chalet is accessed by a good quality but untarmaced road that descends to the river. Then within the property there is a small drive to the chalet. It is possible to drive right up to the chalet, but it is fairly steep and some might prefer to park within the gates at the entrance to the property 60m away.

We have made every effort to create what we hope is the benchmark for private holiday rental accommodation. Our aim has been to mix high quality furnishings, with bags of charm, and all the creature comforts. Children are very welcome. A travel cot and high chair are available on request. We live nearby so closely manage our properties, and are always on hand to answer any queries you might have. Claire - you said we would not be disappointed.....Ty Bois has completely surpassed our expectations - we think this must be the best place to stay on the whole of the Presqu'ile de Crozon region. We have had a fantastic time and were only let down by the weather. You have done a fantastic job renovating Ty Bois - the antique and modern mixture of furnishings complement each other beautifully though it remains a completely family friendly property and we could relax knowing there was nothing too precious to touch! We really appreciated the provision of maps which were well used, as well as the AA guidebook, novels, CDs and DVDs. We were so pleased to have a couple of days in which we made use of the boat and kayak. We will not hesitate to recommend Ty Bois to our friends and we are sure we will return. We had an excellent stay; the view is amazing and the cottage is wonderful, with a delightful garden.
You could not ask for a better location to visit Brittany, but some days you may not want to leave the chalet at all....

A beautiful location and a wonderful property. Lovingly restored and a super place to stay. We had a great time exploring the area, and the chalet was a perfect base. The owners were extremely helpful with all my queries ! The place was exceptionally clean, with great duvets, and the fire was lovely. All creature comforts were there and the welcome basket was filled with lovely treats.

I would definitely recomend this property, and would love to return in the future maybe in the summertime - or try out another of their fantastic looking properties.

I would recomend for children but keep an eye on them outside ! The beach was not too far away, and was nice and clean - although it rained on Christmas day ! Great walking country with many things for the kids to spot.

A House with a View

As we drove up the hill to Ty Bois, we instantly began to relax and upon entering the house, the welcome note, fresh flowers and bottle of wine helped us to unwind even further.

Ty Bois is a truly beautiful house, the location is absolutely stunning - you've heard of 'A Room with a View', well this is 'A House with a View', - and this is one of the most amazing places that we have ever stayed in. The weather wasn't great during our week's holiday, but as we were in such a fantastic house, we didn't really want to leave the property anyway, and you couldn't beat sitting by the fire chatting, or catching up with a good book.

Thank you so much Claire and Andrew for a perfect holiday. We have already started to recommend Ty Bois to our family and friends and we look forward to returning here in the near future.

Wir verbrachten eine Woche in diesem wunderschön gelegenen, geschmackvoll eingerichteten und - wie beschrieben- komfortabel ausgestatteten Haus.
Es war eine Oase zum Wohlfühlen und zum Erholen.

We can definitely recoment to stay there more than one week. That time is necessary alone to enjoy that wonderfull and lovely place
