We stayed for a week in Le Curé, one of the charming stone cottages of the Presbytery, hosted by Julia and Lawrence. Their warmth and helpfulness were much appreciated. My two children enjoyed roaming the grounds. The cottage was well-appointed with all the needed modern devices, a very clean and comfortable home away from home. The surrounding countryside of Bretagne, rustic and authentic, provided many hidden treasures to explore. For swimming and beachcombing with children, "Bonaparte's Beach" (La Plage Bonaparte) is highly recommended and close-by. The area is steeped in history. From this beach, the local resistance heroically evacuated downed Allied flyers during WW2. Visiting the beautiful church of Treverec, an elderly woman told me the story of how Napoleon himself had paid for the roof, when appealed to by the parishioners who found themselves unable to fund that last, essential item. "He could be very generous!", I exclaimed. "Yes indeed!" replied the woman.
