A delightful ground floor, independent, restored cottage set in a peaceful, idyllic situation with far reaching views of the sea ,in 2500 m2 landscaped garden, in the owner property. L'Embrun built like a boat. It's pleasant with a high standing of decoration, comfortable with light and airy rooms, in a Zen,sea spirit. Full equipped with modern conveniences. It's at the edge of the sea with a private terrace. Outdoor Swimming pool 10X6 heated from 1.05 / 1.10 (about 23° or more ) than the owner sometime shared with you after their job (return 8PM only) .. It's equipped for a reduced mobility people. From the equipped terrace you have a beautiful and quiet view, from sea.. It's short drive from sandy beaches and rocky inlets of the unspoilt north Brittany coast, 20 Min of Roscoff. It's an ideal base to visit the north of Brittany. It's situated 2 km from the center of the town who you find (good choice of restaurants). More information on owner site (enquires us for details).

Walk in beautiful coastal and fascinating towns: Roscoff, Landerneau, Lesneven and villages to explore. A rich heritage with chapels in addition to interesting museums. Participate! In festivals, learn to dance and get familiar with its customs. Many seafood restaurants. This coastline is one of the most varied in Brittany (attractive dune areas and rocky headlands where the white frothy waves crash down). It’s also has mud flats going deep down into the indented Aber. Wrac'h. On the Lilia harbour side of the Ile Vierge and its 2 lighthouse is magnificent. The biggest one is 82 m high and it's the tallest stone built lighthouse in Europe. In Brest at 10 mn go in Oceanopolis which boasts the largest open aquariums in Europe.

Notes: Wherever you look from French windows the direct view of the sea makes you feel that you live in a boat. 2 acres of garden, which has been pleasantly landscaped and planted with a variety of colourful shrubs and trees. The garden (2500M2) of the property is closed and the exposition of the private terrace of L'Embrun is south. You have 2 other terraces in the garden. L'Embrun is an detached villa in the big property and the swimming pool is shared only at the arrived of the couple of owner about 8PM the evening all day and sometime the week end . For you: private area: terrace like the bridge of boat with beautiful sea view, barbecue, small glass area, enter and place of parking. no view of the thatched cottage of the owner. Guest write ' peaceful area, we hear the birds'. The protected swimming pool 10X6 is heated at 23 degree from May / end of Sept. Children basin. English TV from 14/9/2007 and internet access for December. Many amenities possible (breakfast at your door)

Idyllic getaway for two

This heavenly little cottage is really a gem. Perched a little above the inlet it has the most beautiful view. Boats moored in the calm waters are a glorious backdrop when sitting on the breakfast patio,or while enjoying an aperitif under the setting sun.It is well equipped and comfortable and only a very short drive to supermarkets at Plougarneau. At a small extra charge it is worthwhile to have the breakfast,various breads, teas and jams--- too much to eat! Nearby in L'Aber Wrach is a delightful restaurant called Le Brennig -a must! The food is delicious and again provides a view over the inlet, this time on the opposite side.
The owners are welcoming and never intrude on privacy. Sharing the pool was not a problem as the owners' children were in school during the day and we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere in the garden.
The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all we needed . There was a range of books to read, some in English.The television is a little small and in the opposite corner to the sofa! One downside!
We made trips to Brest, good shopping but bereft of character. Our day in Roscoff was good although it was a public holiday and a lot of shops were shut. There are some very pretty places to visit in the area but if you want R&R as we did for a week this was ideal. For people who like boating I can imagine nothing more tranquil. However if you like buzz or the hustle and bustle of a busy environment do not chose this one!
We loved this little cottage but I would only say that after a week in such a quiet place we felt we had seen all that it had to offer. Two weeks would have been too long.Bring plenty to read! Enjoy!

The property is spotlessly clean and comfortable, however, it should not be advertised an 'independant' restored cottage. It is a small apartment at the bottom of the owners not too large garden. It felt very claustrophobic for my family as we had expected the freedom and privacy of a gite which it certainly didn't have. OK if you consider as a B&B. Pool also definitely a shared pool with the family and not just after 8pm.
