The area: In Camaret, you will be surprised discovering the protected, yet wild, natural environment headlands, creeks and cliffs. From Camaret you can sail to the three islands ( Molene, Ouessant, Sein ) off the Finistere headland. On the other side of the bay, in Douarnenez , the harbour museum is like a museum without walls... Vessels moored on the water can be visited from hold and engine room to wheelhouse. Near Douarnenez , Locronan is a fascinating pedestrianised little town. It was built in the 15th century and is incredibly well preserved.
50 mn drive from Crozon, Quimper is a beautiful riverside town. It is fabulous for a shopping expedition or just wander around the cobbled streets with their half-timbered houses and its magnificent cathedral (13th16th century ).
July 11-17th Maritime Festival Brest. This international Festival is a sensational gathering of the world’s most beautiful ships and is absolutely spectacular. Over 2000 craft will gather for the week. From morning till night hundred of sailboats cast off, sail and race and return to the harbour.
In Quimper , the festival of Cornouaille is a key celebration of Breton culture, rich in both sights and sounds. The 9 days end July of celebrations in the heart of Cornouaille attract 300000 visitors and 4000 performers . On Sunday is a street parade along the quayside. You can admire the distinctive costumes and the music of the Bretons.
Activities: In Morgat you can rent a sea kayak on the beach and explore the coastline which is ribbled with caves, inaccessible coves and cliffs. Or simply, by boat, starting from the Morgat harbour, discover the wonderful site of l’île Vierge. Numerous activities are on offer: sailing, surfing, windsurfing, kite-surf, kayak,diving. You can also walk all around the Crozon-Peninsula along the ancient customs officers’ path and discover many wonderful sites and landscapes. Crozon has a municipal indoor swimming pool with flumes. You can also angeln on the damm of the Morgat harbour or cash shrimps and crabs in the countless little creeks.
If you are fascinated by birds, you can find here a natural birds reserve near the Rozan’s quicklime kiln and discover 5 mn from the house a lot of cormorants, grey herons, oystercatchers, egrets, gulls, moorhens, sandpipers, coots...
