Langon (1.5 k) is a well equipped village (baker, butcher, bars, etc) on the border of Brittany and the Loire regions. That means Brittany’s beaches, rocky coastline, standing stones, picturesque & historic towns as well as some Loire chateaux are all within easy driving. Redon (15 mins) is an attractive market town with an interesting inland port and old quarter containing many bistros, restaurants and shops as well as a weekly market. La Gacilly (20 mins) and Rochefort-en-Terre (30 mins) have been voted 2 of Brittany’s prettiest towns and La Gacilly is home of Yves Rocher and his factory shop. In the summer months there are many local and nearby festivals including river, ‘twins’, chestnuts, bikers pardon, medieval fair, etc. Louheac (20mins) is the largest motor museum in France and also has a Go-Kart track. For shopping and sightseeing Rennes and Nantes are within 40 mins drive. Other attractions are a stunning golf course (25 mins) and horse riding (5 mins).
