Domaine de la Briquerie offers high quality and well equipped accommodation in 2 acres of landscaped garden with scenic views over river and large heated swimming pool. They provide the perfect peaceful and virtually traffic free getaway. Along the unspoilt river a long distance foot/ cycle path provides safe walks and cycle rides (bikes, boat and rods free to guests). Family friendly with both indoor and outdoor activities and games areas it is close to tourist towns such as Redon and La Gacilly while sandy beaches and rocky coasts are within 1hrs easy drive. Bars, shops and restaurants are within easy reach. Spectacular golf course nearby.

West facing with a spacious open-plan design on ground floor Rose cottage has separate lounge, kitchen and dining areas. Kitchen has fitted units and tiled floor while the lounge has period furniture, rugs, comfy seating and an open fire. Dining area looks out over courtyard. Front door and windows open up onto flower filled and sunny courtyard. Outside door is garden furniture and outside dining area. Upstairs is all carpeted (except bathrooms) Recently extended on the first floor the main bedroom has stunning river views, romantic period furniture and an en-suite shower-room. There are 2 additional bedrooms (1 double 1 twin). . There is plenty of storage with drawers and hanging . Bathroom has full size bath, walk-in shower cubicle, wash basin and wc. En-suite has walk-in shower, wc and basin. Baby friendly with stair gate, high chair, changing mat, baby bath and travel cot, etc

Langon (1.5 k) is a well equipped village (baker, butcher, bars, etc) on the border of Brittany and the Loire regions. That means Brittany’s beaches, rocky coastline, standing stones, picturesque & historic towns as well as some Loire chateaux are all within easy driving. Redon (15 mins) is an attractive market town with an interesting inland port and old quarter containing many bistros, restaurants and shops as well as a weekly market. La Gacilly (20 mins) and Rochefort-en-Terre (30 mins) have been voted 2 of Brittany’s prettiest towns and La Gacilly is home of Yves Rocher and his factory shop. In the summer months there are many local and nearby festivals including river, ‘twins’, chestnuts, bikers pardon, medieval fair, etc. Louheac (20mins) is the largest motor museum in France and also has a Go-Kart track. For shopping and sightseeing Rennes and Nantes are within 40 mins drive. Other attractions are a stunning golf course (25 mins) and horse riding (5 mins).

Shared use of large orangery/conservatory with period windows has garden views, provides shelter from sun or rain and a great place to relax, read or have a romantic evening meal. The swimming pool is heated from May - September and is shared by the owners and the 2 cottages. Underwater lights makes nightime swimming a fun activity. Pool area is safety fenced ( French Law) and self-locking gates mean that small children cannot wander in by themselves. The garden (2 acres) is open to everyone and garden furniture can be moved to suit. Fishing and boating outside front gate. All equipment including bikes free to guests Several golf courses nearby, some equipment to loan for novice guests. We stayed at Rose Cottage for 2 weeks and had a lovely time. There are many things for all to do. The children enjoyed the pool enormously and the trampoline too. Helene and Michael were very friendly and helpful. La Briquerie is a charming place and we were able to relax very quickly. This was helped by Helene's great cooking on the first day! It is a very peaceful and beautiful place. I have no doubt we will return again.

Lovely cottage in the Brittany countryside

Lovely, well equipped cottage in a picturesque riverside setting. We went with our 2 teenage boys and we all really enjoyed our holiday. The boys enjoyed the great games room and swimming pool as well as fishing in the river. We all enjoyed cycling along the river. The property is near many interesting medieval towns and villages for the full french experience!

Micheal and Helene were very pleasant and affable. (Helene's cooking is definitely to be recommended!)
