July 2009 stay at Le Gohic

Polar White High Wycombe, Bucks, UK
Review Submitted: July 21, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We have just returned from a fantastic week at Le Gohic. We were recommended the cottages by friends, and the reality lived up to their report. The cottages, pool and extensive child friendly grounds are very well presented and exceptionally well kept, cleaned and equiped. The four children (1-10 years old) had a great time, and all of them had lots of entertainment choices! My 4 year old can now swim!

The evening "quite" times were so relaxing, in a hammock or on the terrace. Le Gohic is in a very quite area but within easy reach of some great beaches. We visited Port Louis and Carnac which were lovely. The local Creparie is well worth a visit. On the way we stayed for a night at Dinan (close to St Malo) which is a great place and well worth a short visit.

Sheila's comprehensive web-site left us feeling well prepared, with the knowledge that we didn't have to take everything including the kitchen sink. The cottages would make an ideal stay as a couple, single family or a larger group. I honesty cannot think of anything negative to say, and would definately recommend Le Gohic to anybody.

Fantastic - Le Gohic is gorgeous

Rachel & Donn, Ireland Wicklow, Ireland
Review Submitted: May 26, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Le Gohic is like something out of a fairytale. We just loved it. My husband and I and our three girls, along with 2 of my sisters and their husbands and their children stayed for two weeks in May 2009. Between us we had 8 children under the age of 5 and rented 3 of the cottages. It is a beautiful place. The cottages are all that they claim to be and more. They are immaculately clean and beautifully furnished with old and new pieces and very well equipped for family life. Sheila and Robin provided everything from baby baths to stair gates to cake and cider on our first night. They even arranged extra tables in one of our houses so we could all eat together. The grounds are extensive and the kids had a ball just running around and exploring. When they got tired of that they played in the sandpit, went on the swings, went swimming with us or just played with the many toys in the Club House. And it is so safe for them. Hardly a car to be seen. Just the odd tractor trundling down the road. The views of the countryside are breathtaking. In fact on arriving the first night after quite a long journey we could physically feel any stress melt away into the ground beneath us. We just relaxed immediately. The pool is perfect and so private. All we could hear around us was birdsong, crickets and the odd cow in the neighbouring farm. Everyone slept well. We ate well and drank well too with lovely restaurants and markets to visit. The local creperie is a must.
I can't recommend Le Gohic enough. One of my sister's actually said it was the best holiday she has ever had. We all rated it on our way home on the boat to Ireland and the lowest mark we gave was 8/10 but that was because we had rain - nothing to do with Le Gohic itself. Go there if you can. You will love it too. Thank you to Sheila and Robin for such a wonderful holiday.

Le Gohic

T and E Bedfordshire
Review Submitted: April 17, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2007
My wife, myself and our three children have visited Le Gohic twice now, once in early June and the other occasion during the October half term. This place is fantastic, the owners Robin and Sheila are lovely, they care passionately about the holiday makers who visit their hamlet and WILL really make your stay special. We have stayed in Masion Principale and L'Ecurie and have found both to be very comfortable, well equiped and would describe both properties as home from home. There are plenty of things to do in the area and the coast is about 30 - 40 minutes drive away. If visiting the coast we would recommend Lamour Plage, which has a lovely open beach which is ideal for the kids. There are loads of things to do on site and during the October half term the kids spent the day running round the grounds playing etc they had a great time whilst Mum and Dad read some books and relaxed with a glass of wine. Finally, if you want a real relaxing break in a top quality environment then I would not hesitate in recommending Le Gohic.
