Just a five minute walk from Quistinic in the Blavet valley, La Chouette nestles in the hamlet of Locunéhen, looking out across fields to woodland. Independently accessed, the cottage offers generous accommodation for two people, with provision available if requested for one or two young children and/or further adults.Once part of an old stone farmhouse, La Chouette has recently been restored to a high standard, and now allows comfort and space for those seeking to enjoy a relaxing break in rural Brittany. The five metre heated above-ground pool and south-facing sun terrace with paddling pool are for the sole use of La Chouette visitors, who can also enjoy their outdoor meals in full sun or under the shade of the walnut tree.

La Chouette offers the privacy and relaxation for couples or a family with young children who want to relax with the luxury of having their own terraces, heated pool, barbeque, garden and parking, away from the hustle of everyday life. The cottage offers generous accommodation for two people with one or two young children and/or further adults. In addition provision can be made for a cot upon request. Outside the large enclosed garden allows views to be enjoyed from the heated above-ground pool or from loungers on the south-facing sun terrace whilst children can entertain themselves on the large grassed area on the swing & slide or paddling pool. The large environmently friendly charcoal barbecue enables meals to be enjoyed at the wooden picnic tables in full sun or under the shade of the walnut tree.

Quistinic is situated in the heavily-wooded Blavet valley where the river turns sharply towards Hennebont and the coast. Just along the valley the restored 16th century hamlet of Poul Fétan has been brought to life. Visitors may watch demonstrations of rural tasks of that period, take a drink and snack at the bar, and buy local crafts. During summer months at nearby Pont Augan one can hire kayaks, relax over a restaurant meal, take a pleasure boat trip to see more of the countryside bordering the river, or enjoy a cycle ride along the towpath. Fishing is a popular local pastime and there is easy access along the banks to the water.For those who wish to relax, Quistinic is an ideal location, and days can be spent without travelling far afield. However, there is much to explore within the region in any direction. At the end of an active day out, it is good to return to one's own space in the comfort of La Chouette or La Vigne

A baby's cot can be added, if necessary. Duvets and pillows are provided, and all bed linen with the exception of bedding for the cot.

So much to see, to do, to enjoy!: The towpath along the Blavet is gentle cycling and many visitors bring their own bikes to explore further into the countryside. The river itself is ideal for fishing, permits can be purchased locally, with almost no water traffic, easy access to banks, and abundant variety of fish. For golfers the nearest course is at Rimaison near Pontivy. A short drive to the coast allows for surfing and sand yachting, bird watching on nature reserves, and enjoying vast, sandy beaches. Seafood enthusiasts can indulge their appetites at excellent quayside bar/restaurants in St Goustan, Auray, or taste freshly-baked pizzas and salads. The historic walled town of Vannes with its timber-framed buildings and cobbled streets offers a wide range of interesting shops to browse. Each major town holds its summer celebration: the ten-day Inter-Celtic Festival in August draws crowds from far and wide to Lorient.

It was our daughters first trip abroad although you wouldn't have thought it. The gite was so spotlessly clean and comfortable that it was just like being at home. A car is a must to get around but the beaches are just beautiful and safe for young children. There is so much to see we will definitely be back again.
I would really recommend this holiday for anyone wanting to get away from it all and have a peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
You must also try the Breton cake!

We had a fantastic holiday, owners made our stay a holiday to remember, they could not do enough for us. The accomodation was spotless and very comfortable. I would recommend this holiday home to all my friends. You do need a car to visit most places like the beach or larger towns, but it is so restful and peaceful at the cottage that you could just spend the time chilling out and there are plenty of walks for you to walk off all that good french food. You must try the Breton cake. Weather was good and people friendly. I will certainly go back.
