Family holiday in Leinprat

Cino Midlthian, Scotland
Review Submitted: August 5, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
i would like to begin by saying that the picture on the website does not do the property justice. The property was lovely in the respect of the stone finish and the surroundings. My youngest son (12) was never out the pool which was clean and a nice temperature during the week. Outwith the pool there was the facility to play other games as in french bowls, skittles and ball games due to the size of the gardens (bowls, skittles and balls were all on the property). The house was cleaned to a very high standard and midway through our week a man came in to clean the pool, cut the grass and ask if everything was to our satisfaction. The village itself is the France of old, very quiet, with a nice pattisarie, couple of nice bars and within a mile walk. The main town is baud which i have to say has everything you need, supermarkets to restaraunts and i thought not to badly priced. Over the duration of our week we never ate out at night because of the weather and the facilities in the house we always had a barbeque or made a meal in the house. Supermarkets we found overall were priced similar to back home but the standard of food i thought was better in france. I have visited Paris a few times and to be honest i was not taken by the people, maybe because everything seems to be going at 100mph but in baud they could not have been nicer, i got the impression that people would go there to retire. We had a couple of days away which we enjoyed, one day we went to Carnac which is a seaside resort with arcades, restaraunts and a lovely beach which the kids loved, the other day we had a trip to Vannes which has alot of history and architecture and a good market.
My whole experience with dealing with the owner, the house and the holiday was second to none, i would, in actual fact i have already recommended leinprat to my family and friends and there is a very good chance we will go back out in the near future. It is a place that your holiday can be as busy or as quiet as you would like. I was there with another 5 adults, 4 children (16,15, and 2 at 12), and they always say that if your kids are happy then you are happy and this was certainly the case, if they were not in the pool they had the option with the games and at night they had all the dvds to watch (which were there),
Without hesitation i would recommend leinprat, my only advise would be to make sure you have a car ,
Owner's Response: An excellent review. I am pleased that they enjoyed their holiday. It is always good to know that guests like it enough to recommend it to their familly and friends. I holiday there at least twice a year and agree that the locals are very friendly and helpful. This year Iate out twice in Baud and both meals were excellent.

Review Submitted: August 23, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We had a wonderful time at Leinprat and found the house and area lovely. It is in a quiet hamlet, within easy (hilly) walking distance of Guenin.
The pool was beautifully clean and we all enjoyed it, especially the children, even in the rain. My oldest son also enjoyed ‘rescuing’ the toads that had inadvertently strayed into the pool overnight and we watched the bats swoop around in the dusk.
We visited Vannes, Lorient, Carnac (the children enjoyed rock pooling on the beach here, but not the stones – they thought Stonehenge was much more impressive!), Josselin, Pontivy, Erdeven (a fantastic beach) and St Nicolas des Eaux. We played minigolf and used the pediloes at Guenin, which is a very pretty village, and bought fresh croissants and bread from the Boulangerie there every day (except Wednesdays!). Karting was a popular past time with my brother, husband and the four children as well (they went 4 times!)
We would recommend the property, which was clean and well maintained and had plenty of room. You definitely need a car and it is a good idea to research the area well before you go, to get the most from your stay.
Owner's Response: I have not used the Karts at Plumeliau but all reports so far have been good. I will have to try them on my next visit.

From the moment my family and I arrived we enjoyed the relaxed nature of the property, the surrounding area is picturesque and there is a small river running through the valley. The standard of the property was excellent and everything was provided for.
The swimming pool provided great entertainment for the children and adults alike. There was six of us but the property is more than spacious enough for twelve. As a family we will certainly return to this property in the future.
Owner's Response: I am glad that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again.

Superb accomodation for our party of 11. Two grandparents, three adult children plus partners, and three grandchildren aged 3,3 and 2. Swimming pool very clean, warm and very safe with young children. The property is
quite isolated and hence very quiet, but is clean and well equipped for up to 12 people and the whole site is well fenced and child friendly.Good beaches are 30-- 40 mins away, but plenty of interesting towns within half an hour. Everything we needed, such as supermarkets, restaurants,
bread shops etc were in Baud less than 5 mins. away.
Owner's Response: I am pleased that my clients enjoyed their stay.
