Jugon-les-lacs: The whole history of Jugon has been determined by the importance of water. It used to be a fundamental means of defence, but today combined with water sports, natural activities and cultural heritage it is a beautiful holiday destination. One of the town’s streams, formerly called the “Jugon”, gave its name to the town.
Location and attractions: The house is ideally located on the corner overlooking the Jugon Les Lacs Square. The free car park is less than a minute walk away from the house. There are several good restaurants/bars including a pizzeria where you can dine or drink outside in the sunshine and soak up the atmosphere. It also has two bakeries, small supermarket, butchers, a newsagent, bank and a post office. Activities in Jugon-les-lacs range from water sports, fishing, tennis courts, swimming pool with children’s waterslides, forest walks and cycling. The Northern lake is less developed and a haven for birds and other wildlife. There is also a Friday market and the tourist office in the square will keep you updated on many attractions that take place in the town and the surrounding area. Many excellent beaches are within a 25-30 minutes drive and the historic town of Dinan is only 15 minutes away. Golf courses are within easy reach.
Getting there: The house is 40 minutes drive from St. Malo ferry port and half an hour drive from Dinard airport where flights from Stansted/East Midland/Bristol/ Birmingham (Ryanair) and Jersey arrive daily. Car hire and taxis are available at the airport. Cherbourg, Caen with fast ferry crossings are only 3 hours drive away. Lamballe to Paris is less than 3 hours via TGV.
