Dinan holiday villa: Dinan

My husband and I plus our two children found Villa des Remparts to be everything they said it was. The location was absolutely amazing as we had the beautiful views, easy parking all in the centre of Dinan. This year we decided to immerse ourselves in French culture by choosing a location in the centre of an historic town. We much preferred that to being stuck out in the countryside where we needed the car to go anywhere. We loved to walk along the ramparts every day as the entrance was right outside our front door. At the back of the villa is the very steep Rue du Petit Fort that goes down to the old port. Here we discovered our favourite restaurant, Le Cottage. It was very affordable and full of local French and Brits who live in the area, so it must be good! The bedrooms in the villa were delightful and quiet. We were very glad they each had ceiling fans as that made sleeping comfortable especially as some of the evenings were quite warm. They have a "Welcome" notebook in the kitchen that contained everything we needed to know about operating appliances as well as suggestions on where to eat, shop and some fabulous walks nearby. We hired bikes and cycled for miles along the river discovering quaint hamlets and old mills. We have already booked two weeks next summer!
