Charming character cottage in a peaceful medieval village

This charming house very comfortably accommodates 3 people plus a baby or child, and is set in it's own private secure garden. It has been newly refurbished to a very high standard, spacious with a bright sunny aspect, all on one level. A large sitting-dining room with an open fire place and French windows opening onto the garden with teak garden furniture, deck chairs and barbeque. There is a well equipped kitchen (dishwasher, fridge-freezer, electric fan oven, gas hobs, coffee machine etc.) Large double bedroom (king size bed), with window overlooking the garden. Single bedroom, which would suit 1 adult or 2 children. (Cot and folding bed available) also overlooking the garden, bathroom with shower, bath, washing machine, separate toilet.

The cottage is situated on the edge of the peaceful medieval bourg of Mont St Jean, in the heart of Burgundy.It is in the region of the Mont de L'Auxois, close to the beautiful town of Semur en Auxios and within easy reach of Dijon, Beaune, Vezelay, Avallon, Saulieu and the Morvan national park. (15 mins from the A6 autoroute exit). The famous vineyards of the Cotes de Nuits and Cotes de Beaune are less than an hour away, while Chablis and Champagne are easy day trips. Mont St Jean itself is a hidden gem of Burgundy, with its splendid 10C feudal chateau, Manor Farm, stone arches and ancient vineyards. Its very much a picture postcard setting yet remains quiet and little frequented. The is a great little restaurant within walking distance and a tennis court within 200m. Rural Burgundy is a paradise for nature lovers - birds, butterflies, and wild flowers abound and many sites and habitats are of national and international conservation interest.
