At the heart of the Burgundy wine region and only 3kms from the beautiful medieval market town of Beaune, Pommard is a perfect holiday location for wine lovers. Our pretty, 3 bedroom cottage is situated in the centre of the village and set around a private courtyard with secure parking, just off a quiet lane next to the Chateau de Pommard. The village Boulangerie and Epicerie are just around the corner with the local bar/café and restaurant a short stroll into the main square. Everything you need can be found around the village; country walks or bike rides through the vineyards, wine tasting in the local domains, and tours of the historic Chateau cellars. There is really no need to venture further but with Beaune and the beauty of the Cote d’Or on your doorstep, there will always be new experiences and tastes to discover.

Unique 1 bedroom apartments in the village of Cissey. The spacious open-plan living areas all enjoy comfortable seating around an open fireplace with TV, DVD and CD players.  Each has dining space as well as areas for outdoor dining, and a fully equipped kitchen which includes, multifunction oven and hob, microwave, fridge/ freezer and dishwasher. There is also a shared washer/dryer for the four apartments. All the double bedrooms have been charmingly furnished and are fully en-suite. Facilities: Outdoor dining space, shared use of gardens, swimming pool, bar-b-que and pic-nic area, free use of outdoor, floodlit tennis courts at 1km. Off-street parking.

The region: It is impossible to explore the entire region of Burgundy in one holiday, but in one short trip you will at least appreciate the abundance and richness of the heritage here. Le Clos de Pommard overlooks the beautiful Chateau de Pommard, which has also recently undergone extensive refurbishment with 2005 seeing the debut of the new ‘jardin à la francaise’. The chateau is open daily for tours of its vineyards, historic wine cellars and degustations of its world renowned wine production. Nearby Beaune is the pride of the region and a very popular centre for exploring Burgundy. The medieval town with its narrow lanes and quiet courtyards is well preserved within the 15th century ramparts. There are more than 50 restaurants within the town and on Saturday mornings it bustles with the large farmers’ market and antique stalls. The wine region around Beaune is a year round destination, with many wine and food festivals taking place in Autumn and Winter.

We rented 1 apartment with balcony in this property in September 2008. We had an excellent holiday in this very good property. Everything was excellent condition with a very comfortable bedroom and living room. Swimming pool and outdoor area also to a very high standard. Although it is remote and one would need a car - this is an excelent holiday home in a great part of France.
