Luxurious 18th Century village house, part of privately owned historic château in Burgundian countryside. Guests have access to chateau grounds. Ideal for biking, hiking, visiting vineyards and historic sites. Private garden. Three bedrooms, fully equipped gourmet kitchen, large salon with satellite TV, DVD, Stereo. Ideal for families, as well as for three couples travelling together. Comfortable beds with American-style mattresses, pillows, fine linen. Washer and dryer on premises. Bicycles provided. The cottage is available year-round. The house is well insulated and has wall mounted convection heaters in every room. In the fall, it is an ideal base for wine lovers attending the annual wine auctions at the Hospices de Beaune or as place to stay when attending Chevaliers du Tastevin dinners at the Clos de Vougeot. The 148th Ventes des Vins wine auction will take place at the Hospices de Beaune on November 14-16, 2008.

Antigny-le-Chateau, chateau and hamlet in the commune of Foissy, lies in the beautiful rolling hills of the Cote d'Or, 25 minutes from Beaune, 45 minutes from Dijon and Burgundy's most famous vineyards. The Chateau is one of Burgundy's oldest Baronies, with the property's earliest portions dating from the 11th Century. The cottage and château are located at the end of a long butte, the site of a Roman encampment. Traces of Gallo-Roman settlements are still visible on the butte. There are lovely walks around the butte, easy bicycle roads and paths and picturesque farms. The cottage is 7 km from Arnay-le-Duc, where Henri IV (as Henri of Navarre) won his first battle in 1570 in the wars of religion. Vezelay is an hour away by Autoroute. Fontenay, Flavigny, Chateauneuf, Alesia (where Caesar defeate Vercingetorix) are between 30 minutes and 1 hour away.
