Maison de Colline is on a lane right at the edge of the famous and friendly village of St.Leger Vauban. It is a very pretty village with a leafy square, ponds, a good village store, pizzeria, bar and museum. The village holds several fetes & dances, as do the other villages in the area. The nearest large supermarket & petrol station is 5 minutes away. St. Leger is in the Morvan National Park which has 5 main lakes & 2 main rivers, Le Cure & Le Cousin. If you are interested in water sports of any sort you will find them all here from simple swimming to White water rafting. In the forests there are several quad biking centres, pony trekking, mini golf, tree/rock climbing. If you prefer quieter activities there are many pathways & rambles, lakeside beaches and VTT cycle maps. There are 3 tourist information centres nearby.
Renovated holiday cottage with lovely views & pool:
MAISON DE COLLINE has been renovated but retains the charm of a large 18th century cottage. It has the original tiled & wooden floors, shuttered french windows, rendered walls & original clay tiled roof. The large master bedroom & ensuite show off all the back lit oak beams and oak floors of the oldest part of the cottage. The other 1st floor bedrooms have the original hand fired floor tiles and are all furnished with antique furniture.
The ground floor kitchen and dining room are open plan with beamed ceilings, original floors & open fireplace with large windows that open back to take in the views & afternoon breezes. There is a shower room off the rear hallway with a twisting oak staircase & a door into the back french porch . There is a front hallway, large guest bedroom , lounge with 2 settees, TV , DVD player and fireplace. The walled garden has a 9mtrx 4 mtr pool with walk in steps & night lights, sunbeds set on flagged patios with security railings and a large table & chairs.

The Village of St.Leger Vauban is perfectly sited in the Morvan National Park, Burgundy with easy access to Chablis, Auxerre, Irancy, Dijon, Beanue & Flavigny sur Ozerain (home of film Chocolat).
It is just a few minutes drive to the N6 & A6 with a drive of 21/2 hours to PARIS & 5 hours to Calais. It is 1 hour on the TGV to Paris & Euro Disney from Montbard & 5 hours to London on the TGV (Lille) Eurostar. The nearest large towns are Avallon & Saulieu (famous for the Louisiana Cajun festivals). Both towns have large supermarkets, markets, restaurants & shops with many festivals and flower displays. There are many wine trails as you can see from the towns above including the Caves du Bailly (wonderful Champagne).
