Our two charming properties set in the beautiful hills just South of Autun, Burgundy, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across the valley on which all our guests comment.

La Petite Maison with 4 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and La Maison with 7 double bedrooms with 5 bathrooms (3 en-suite) have been lovingly restored with many period features and are fully equipped to provide every comfort, and ensure you have an unforgettable holiday.

The properties enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the magnificent surrounding countryside and are ideally situated in the heart of Burgundy, making them a perfect base for exploring the region. They share the use of a large, spectacularly located, heated swimming pool(11 by 5 metres) securely enclosed within a walled orchard overlooking the valley.

The properties are set in nearly 2 acres. Our pretty flower borders, fruit trees and grass meadow provide a peaceful setting for dining, relaxing.

Sleeps 14 plus cot; 7 Double bedrooms - 3 with kingsize beds, 4 with twin beds; 5 Bathrooms, 3 en-suite and a downstairs cloakroom.; Fully appointed kitchen and large elegant dining room overlooking the valley; Wood burning stove; Range cooker; Dishwasher; Fridge/Freezer; Microwave oven; Washing machine; Iron/Ironing board; TV /Satellite; DVD / Video; CD Player; Hairdryer; Electric fans. Large well furnished sitting room with wood burning stove; Separate games room with table tennis, darts etc; Outdoor BBQ /dining area; Heating - by wood burning stoves and electric radiators. Every thing you could wish for.

If you have drempt of a rural French farm house style holiday and location then this is the place to stay.
The accomodation,facilities,location and weather was superb. The house with gardens,pool and surrounding panaramic views were out of this world.
We could not fault a single thing and would recommend
any family or group to stay.

Schön und familienfreundlich in Burgund

Wir waren im Juli 2009 mit 3 Familien (6 Erwachsene, 7 Kinder von 12-17 Jahren) im La Maison und haben 10 Jahre Erfahrung mit Ferienhäusern von 8 - 13 Personen. La Maison ist ein sehr schönes, großes und großzügiges Haus mit viel Platz, zudem gut durchdacht. Sehr schöner Pool, das Haus ist sehr gut geeignet für mehrere Familien bzw. größere Gruppen, mit vielfältigen Freizeit- und Rückzugsmöglichkeiten (auch an den seltenen Regentagen).
Wir haben oft für alle gekocht oder gegrillt, die großzügige Küche ist gut ausgestattet (haben noch nie so viele Töpfe etc. in einem Ferienhaus vorgefunden) und endlich konnten einmal 2-3 Personen gleichzeitg in der Küche werken!
Sehr schöne und vielfältige Ausflugsmöglichkeiten, aber man konnte auch den ganzen Tag auf dem Grundstück faulenzen und den herrlichen Blick über das Tal genießen.
Die Gastronomie in der Nachbarschaft war durchweg gut und unerwartet günstig, wir empfehlen den Gasthof "Zum alten Schinken" (bitte selber übersetzen ...).
Wir können das Qurtier mit gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen!

Review of our stay at La Maison

We had a fantastic week. La Maison was clean, comfortable and spacious. The facilities were more than ample for the 14 of us (3 families including 8 children). It was in a wonderfully quiet location with fabulous views of the surrounding countryside and plenty of nearby places to visit.

La Petite Maison was far enough away not to be at all intrusive. We enjoyed having a key to the local tennis court 5 mins drive away.

We would recommend a trip to Uchon- pictureque with good restaurant. Autun's well worth seeing and for the children- Le Parc des Combes was a hit! We visited the chateaux at Couches and Sully making great days out and there are many others to choose from.

The owner could not be faulted in communications with us before our holiday and she promptly returned our damage deposit in full, following our departure. She was pleasant and helpful, as was our local contact in France. We would certainly strongly recommend this property to family and friends. Many thanks.
