These three cottages are set in the hamlet of Ecorsaint (Dijon is 50kms south east). This is a sleepy hamlet with glorious views and excellent walking. Here you will find peace and tranquillity! All the cottages are of a very high standard, very good catering facilities and a great deal of comfort. L'Ecurie is the largest cottage with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The Farmhouse has 2 bedrooms and one bathroom and Pickwicks Cottage has one bedroom and bathroom. There are individual areas for relaxing in the garden, which extends into the fields and forest beyond. This is an ideal location for a large group of friends or family and after several years of planning the garden - works very well for separate groups of people. The pool is a very recent addition and has stunning views across the valley. The pool house has a shower, separate WC and sink and changing area. There is much to offer in the way of excursions, good restaurants & shopping and the village is safe for children.

The Farmhouse has two bedrooms, l double and one twin. They are located either side of the salon up individual staircases. There is a shower room with an open shower (reputed to be one of the best) and separate WC. The garden to the front is secluded and has a BBQ and garden furniture for four people. Access to the pool is through the garden or up the side lane of the property. Parking is provided for one car. There is a salon/dining/kitchen area and the kitchen is fully and well equipped. There is comfortable seating in the salon area and an open 'wood burning stove'. Wood is provided in the winter as is the central heating.

Nearest Airport: Paris and Lyon at 350 Kilometres
Car: necessary
Apart from the cultural activities, the area offers a wealth of leisure pastimes. Long hikes, bicycle rides (bike hire in Les Laumes), numerous horse riding centres, or tennis. All the water sports are available at nearby lakes and reservoirs, or take advantage of the river at the bottom of Ecorsaint hill for paddling and swimming. Rock climbing for the specialist is possible across the valley in the village of Hauteroche (high rocks). Golfing facilities can be found either in Dijon or in the beautiful grounds of the Chateau de Chailly (35 mins drive). This is a very lush region and there are walks within minutes of the cottages, up into the forests surrounding it, one which leads to a Roman cemetery still with a sarcophagus in place! It's possible to walk through these forests into Flavigny Sur Ozerain where the film 'Chocolat' was made. By car from Calais it takes approximately 5 hours; from Paris 3 hours and Dijon takes three quarters of an hour.

A lovely place in the countryside for a relaxing and peaceful holiday. The property has all that you might need and is reasonably comfortable, being furnished in a fairly typical "gite-like" fashion. The bedrooms are a very good size and the shower room is great. The grounds are very nice and the pool is a really good size and has a table tennis table in the same area. There are plenty of places to visit within half an hour to an hours drive, with the nearest supermarket and boulangerie a 10-15 minute drive. A good place to get away from it (no tv or radio, so make your own fun) and relax.
