These three cottages are set in the hamlet of Ecorsaint (Dijon is 50kms south east). This is a sleepy hamlet with glorious views and excellent walking. Here you will find peace and tranquillity! All the cottages are of a very high standard, very good catering facilities and a great deal of comfort. L'Ecurie is the largest cottage with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The Farmhouse has 2 bedrooms and one bathroom and Pickwicks Cottage has one bedroom and bathroom. There are individual areas for relaxing in the garden, which extends into the fields and forest beyond. This is an ideal location for a large group of friends or family and after several years of planning the garden - works very well for separate groups of people. The pool is a very recent addition and has stunning views across the valley. The pool house has a shower, separate WC and sink and changing area. There is much to offer in the way of excursions, good restaurants & shopping and the village is safe for children.

Pickwicks Cottage has one large beamed double bedroom with bed measuring 1.60m x 90cm. The room measures 10m x 4.50m. This is accessed by stairs from between the salon and bathroom. The salon/kitchen/dining area has comfortable seating, dining and fully and well equipped kitchen. There is a window which gives access to the terrace, where there is garden furniture for two and a BBQ. Access to the swimming pool is across the garden and there is parking provided for one car. The bathroom has an open shower, bath, sink and toilet.

Nearest Airport: Paris and Lyon at 350 Kilometres
Car: necessary
Apart from the cultural activities, the area offers a wealth of leisure pastimes. Long hikes, bicycle rides (bike hire in Les Laumes), numerous horse riding centres, or tennis. All the water sports are available at nearby lakes and reservoirs, or take advantage of the river at the bottom of Ecorsaint hill for paddling and swimming. Rock climbing for the specialist is possible across the valley in the village of Hauteroche (high rocks). Golfing facilities can be found either in Dijon or in the beautiful grounds of the Chateau de Chailly (35 mins drive). This is a very lush region and there are walks within minutes of the cottages, up into the forests surrounding it, one which leads to a Roman cemetery still with a sarcophagus in place! It's possible to walk through these forests into Flavigny Sur Ozerain where the film 'Chocolat' was made. By car from Calais it takes approximately 5 hours; from Paris 3 hours and Dijon takes three quarters of an hour.

Peaceful retreat

Cute and private little cottage tucked away in the middle of nowhere and incredibly peaceful. Pool is lovely, bedroom is huge and bed incredibly comfortable. We also discovered a fantstic vineyard just down the road with great wine - a surprise jewel! Beautiful historic town of Flavigny is also a 5-10min drive away. Would recommend.

Wonderfully relaxing

The accomodation was attractive and tastefully decorated. The exposed beams and oak flooring gave a warm and comfortable sleeping area. Smiplistic in its design the ground floor with its tiled floors and log burner which provided enough heat for the cottage to sunggle down in front of. We had a nice little area to the back of the property with our own table and small BBQ which we used every night. If your looking to relax then this is the place to go especially out of school season. With no TV, internet or radio in the accomodation life passes easily by in this very quiet area of France. Mobile phone reception was good but we kept ours off for the peace quiet. We had the pool to ourselves and the weather was very good all week especially being the last week in September. We visited a few places Flavigny the most beautiful and full of character but mostly we stayed by the pool and read books. I couldn't recommend it more highly if you want to get away from the stresses and strains of life!

Pleasant little cottage with comfortable facilities for 2 adults (there is room for a single bed/cot in the bedroom). Kitchen/living area small but adequate. Kitchen has most utensils/facilities. Property would benefit from a little freshening up / updating and had a slight damp/musty feel upon arrival but otherwise OK. Great little patio area looking out over gardens to pool area. Pool superb, lots of space and loungers. Great outhouse with toilet/shower. Table tennis table and inflatables for pool. Friendly and helpful owner but not intrusive.
