This lovely Maison Bourgoise from 18th Century (Manor House), restored by an architect (the present owner), has kept all its old charm with tiled floors and selected colours on the walls, now equipped with all modern amenities, which makes it cosy, elegant and comfortable. The rooms are lovely decorated with antique furniture and silk curtains. The living room has two double terrace-doors straight to the garden, a huge stone fireplace and a grand piano. The dining room for 10 people is open to the lovely new but old-fashioned well-equipped kitchen, and with a huge gas oven that makes it a pleasure to cook Burgundian cuisine.

There are numerous monuments in the region to be visited - Vezelay, a village climbing a hill-top, with the cathedral on top, similar to Mont St.Michel, but in the countryside. Magnificent ! 25km from the house, and with many nice shops and restaurants in this medieval city -The Abbeys of Fontenay, both listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Many different châteaux like Bazoches, and wine yards in Chablis, Irancy, Côtes d'Auxerre and Beaune with Côte de Nuit and Côte de Beaune. The region is sprinkled with art and history treasures. On the grand piano in the living room there is a map indicating where to buy, to eat and what to visit. You will also find a CD-music system with a good selection of classical music and jazz, and a great selection of books, literature, art and architecture.

The house is really beautiful and interesting, and I have spent most of my time reading your fabulous books and looking at your photograph album of the house. I am impressed that you are willing to share this place with guests. I will treasure the hot days by the pool and the beautiful natural garden and the great surrounding. Thank you for what you have offered to us. 2. A lovely house and beautifully restored. Vezelay is a 'must visit' and the Morvan is picturesque, Chablis for wine is our favorite and the Marc Menau Restaurant 'L'Espérance' is well worth the expense ! 3. Lovely house ! The pool was brilliant, the area is beautiful, and everyone was very friendly and kind ! We took the local train to Paris, quite an adventure, but worth it ! And we had the most wonderful day in Vezelay ! 4. Fantastic house, incredible garden and a beautiful setting. Thank you for providing such a delightful residence.
