From Paris: Motorway A4 from Porte de Bercy, Exit 18, 40 km (40min). Right on N3 to La Ferté sous Jouarre, then D407 to Montmirail and RD933 from Montmirail to Fromentieres 60 km, (50 min)

Large arable area, prestigious vineyard and cellars; Champagne took also a very important place in French history. Joan Arc lead Charles VII to his crowning (1429) in Reims Cathedral; Napoleon's had here his last victories (Montmirail, Vauchamps and Champaubert) before he abdicates (1814); the bataille de la Marne in the Marais de St Gond during the 1st Word War. The house is ideally situated in this context.
