This 150 year old farm house in the centre of the village was fully refurbished in 1995 and is fully equipped for a comfortable stay in winter or summer. There is a barn with bicycles, barbecue, deckchairs, wooden garden furniture and everything necessary to enjoy the beautiful and well maintained garden and 'La France profonde.' Just on the border between Brie and Champagne, the farmhouse is 5 minutes drive to the vineyards and 30 minutes from Epernay and its famous Caves de Champagne.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Prices include: gas, electricity, central heating, water, duvets.
    Pillows and bed linen are available for £3 per double bed and £2 per single. Towels are available £1 each.
    Your reservation is confirmed on receipt of a 30% booking deposit. We supply a booking confirmation immediately on receipt of the non-refundable deposit. A damage deposit of £150 is equired when arriving in the property. This deposit is return at departure if no damage in the house.
    Guests are supposed to leave the house as it was when they arrived : tidy and clean. Providing dishes and cookware are left clean after departure we can arrange to clean the house for you, for an additional £30.
  • 3 adults bicycles, 2 children bicycles, barbecue, 3 deckchairs, wooden garden furniture in the barn, are included in th rates.

Travel Arrangements : From UK: from Calais Motorways A26, then A4 to Reims 275 kilometres (2:20). Exit 25 to Epernay on RN 51, 23 km (20 min). RD 951 from Epernay to Montmort and Champaubert then right on RD 933 to Fromentieres, 25 km (20 min). From Paris: Motorway A4 from Porte de Bercy, Exit 18, 40 km (40min). Right on N3 to La Ferté sous Jouarre, then D407 to Montmirail and RD933 from Montmirail to Fromentieres 60 km, (50 min)

Sports and gastronomy: Swiming pools in Montmirail and Epernay. Tennis in Montmirail (4courts). Cinemas in Montmirail and Epernay (4 screens) Market monday morning in Montmirail. An unbelievable brocante in the village every year, the 1st sunday of August. Route des vins et good restaurants not far away !

Paths to follow: Large arable area, prestigious vineyard and cellars; Champagne took also a very important place in French history. Joan Arc lead Charles VII to his crowning (1429) in Reims Cathedral; Napoleon's had here his last victories (Montmirail, Vauchamps and Champaubert) before he abdicates (1814); the bataille de la Marne in the Marais de St Gond during the 1st Word War. The house is ideally situated in this context.

We shared a great week with our parents in this comfortable, quiet, old terrace house, with extensive garden, in a lovely village. We instantly felt at home and it was well supplied with all necessities (without TV - thank goodness!) It provided a central location for day trips by car to Troyes in the south, and the champagne regions of Epernay/ Reims to the north. Would happily recommend it . .

Thoroughly enjoyable...

Ideal place for a family to stay with loads of room and plenty of books to read and games to play. Property was clean and airy although a bit musty when we arrived, on opening a few windows it soon disappeared. It is a pity that all the shops in the village bar the butcher are closed. Not that there seemed to be many in the first place. The bicycles were a great way to see the village and surrounding countryside despite the poor weather we had. We went to Disneyland and found the journey not too bad. Another day we went to a place called Nigloland which I would highly recommend. It is near Troyes which is about an hour and a half away. It was very like Disneyland but only half the price and no queues!!. Reims is a lovely city and well worth a vist but if you are going to the Automoble museum, please check before you go as we arrived only to find the place closed. I never found out why it was closed. All in all a great place to stay, lots to do in the surrounding area and close to Paris. The scenery was just astounding. Definately a place I would visit again...

House was great, we had 4 adults and three children for a week and fitted in very well. House was clean and well maintained, good selection of books to read. Big yard. Town was nice but very small, cafe was closed during our stay so had to go to next town for bread etc (not too far but would be good to have it in the town). Good proximity to Eurodisney and not far from Paris. Good base to visit attractions in Champagne area
