This recently redecorated and comfortably furnished apartment is on the 4th floor of a building in the well-known complex 'le Roi Soleil', situated above the delightful town of Antibes. This is a commanding location with great views, situated within well maintained, landscaped grounds. A swimming pool, children's pool and playground, tennis courts and boules area are available on site and there are several small shops on the complex including a boulangerie, supermarket, pharmacy and pizzeria. The apartment is 2 minutes by car or a 10 minute walk from the centre of Antibes with its picturesque Harbour, Old Town and Market. Filled with bars and restaurants, beaches and entertainments this is a perfect position from which to explore the Cote d'Azur with its many famous resorts and beautiful mountain villages. There are several golf courses in the area and skiing in the Alpes Maritimes during the winter months is just a couple of hours drive away by spectacular mountain roads.

Le Roi Soleil is situated on a hill just outside the town of Antibes. All the famous Riviera resorts are an easy journey from here either by car or using the fast local trains which travel along beside the sea and offer stunning views on the way. The mountain villages of Biot, St Paul de Vence, Mougins and Grasse, famous for its perfume, are further inland and well worth a visit. Travelling further into the mountains you reach the ski resorts of Auron and Isola where winter sports abound and the views are wonderful.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Cleaning charge is included in advertised rate. If extra cleaning is required this is charged at £20 per hour. Laundry is charged at £20 per person, this includes one bath and one beach towel per person plus normal bed linen, tea towels, tablecloths etc. An additional deposit of 100 euros or £90 is payable at time of booking or on arrival to cover any breakages or damage. This will be refunded at the end of the stay (subject to any reductions for breakages).
  • 50% deposit on booking with balance payable 28 days before departure.
    Deposit refundable on a decreasing scale as follows:
    9 months before travel - 75%;
    6-9 months - 50%;
    3-6 months - 25%;
    less than 3 months - nil.
  • Check in Time 1400 - 1900 hours on day of arrival. (Arrival after 1900hrs will require extra payment to our agents)
    Check out time up to 0930 hours on day of departure. There is no leeway on this time as the cleaners need 3-4 hours for cleaning prior to the next Renters arriving.

Accommodation: Marble floored living/dining area with full width patio doors opening on to balcony and furnished with dining table and 4 chairs, sofa bed and two armchairs, sideboard, occasional table, TV and DVD player. Balcony with sun blinds and alfresco dining/sunbathing area, great views of the whole of Antibes and the sea. Hall is large and bright with fitted cupboards providing considerable hanging and storage space. Kitchen is fully equipped and has a full length sliding door opening on to another small balcony with views over gardens and swimming pool. Both bedrooms are a good size with large windows, wood floors, portable air-conditioning units, bedside tables and lamps. Bathroom is fully tiled with bath and shower, shaver point, hairdryer and washing machine/tumble dryer. Separate WC. There is a small lift from the lobby area to the 4th floor.

Getting around: It is possible to stay here without a car, the local bus and train services are excellent and a 10/15 minute walk will get you down to the town and nearest beach. The trains travel along the coast to Monaco, Nice, Cannes etc and into Italy where there is a huge market on Friday mornings at Ventimille. The buses will take you up and down from the apartment and also to Juan les Pins, the Cap d'Antibes and some of the mountain villages. Information is available from the Gare Routiere in Antibes.

Other Activities: Funfair and waterpark, mini golf. Skiing in the mountains 1.5 hours drive.

We had a super time at le Roi Soleil! The weather was perfect and we found that using the buses and trains was an ideal and relaxing way to get around. We even got as far as the Friday market in Ventimille. Apart from whizzing up and down the Cote d'Azur, we thoroughly enjoyed the comfort of the apartment (with its stunning views by day and night) and also the close proximity of the shops was excellent. The week flew by and we packed so much in. Although we had visited Antibes once before, there is so much to see and enjoy literally on the doorstep. You have a beautiful apartment in an enviable position! Kind regards, Marian R.

Dropping you a line to say we had an absolutely lovely time in France, the apartment is great with fantastic views, we walked to the town 5 times there and back and really enjoyed the restaurants and shops!!! Also managed to take the train to Cannes for half a day, the whole area is great and we would love to get back there sometime!!! Michele & Steve B.

Had a lovely week in this apartment. It has everything you need and is very comfortable with lovely views of the med on one side and the mountains on the other. It's in a very good position for exploring the Cote d'Azur and would recommend it to anyone. We had a car and were able to visit Mougins in the mountains and Cannes etc. You don't have to have a car as you can walk down the hill (about 15 mins) to the old town and harbour, beaches etc. but some people might find the uphill journey a bit tiring. You can also take the train in Antibes and travel to Ventigmilia in Italy (market on Friday) and back again - very easy 1 hour journey costing about 15 euros return. The only slight draw back is the noise from the scooters and from the shops below the apartment which open around 5 a.m. when their deliveries arrive - if you are a light sleeper you might struggle. There is a very nice little pizza restaurant nearby which is reasonably priced and lots of restaurants in Antibes itself. Note: we found them very expensive as the exchange rate is not good at the moment. Oh, just remembered - we had a problem unlocking the door too until we discovered you have to pull the door towards you! Otherwise it was just perfect and would love to go back there one day.

Great place with wonderful view of Antibes

We have been two years in a row now, staying at the beginning of September. The weather is still beautiful then and you have the advantage of no noisy kids about!

The apartment is very spacious and clean, superbly equipped and well maintained. The beds were so comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed (apart from food of course - but we bought that from the supermarche which was a 3 minute drive away). There is also a mini-mart, bar and pizza restaurant on the complex so ideal for those who dont drive.

Our most favorite part of our holiday was sitting on the balcony enjoying the beautiful view of Antibes and the Marina. The apartment block is quite high up anyway and i think we were on the 6th floor too so nothing ruined the landscape. There are glass doors from floor to ceiling which lead onto the balcony, so you can sit outside and enjoy the view or stay indoors and still marvel at how amazing it is.

Our only drawback would be that sometimes it can be a little noisy in the mornings with trucks dropping off supplies to the mini-mart and restaurant, but we soon caught up our sleep by the landscaped (and very quiet) pool!

We would definitely recommend this place

An apartment with spectacular views

Apart from the initial slight panic when the taxi driver from Nice Airport could not find where we were going - he was looking for 24 Rue de St Jean not the complex of Roi de Soleil and we actually passed it three times before realising - we had a really brilliant holiday. The apartment is very well appointed with a fully fitted kitchen which makes self catering so easy. Very clean and the Agent, Martine, is very helpful. She booked our taxi back to the Airport which was good. It is a good twenty minute walk from the Old Town down quite a steep hill (which then means you have a long climb back up) and about 15 mins from the Railway Station. Trains are regular, inexpensive and on time - Ventimille market is a must, it is held on a Friday and if you get a CArte Isabelle (before the end of September) you can stop at any other stations on the route. cost for two as at Sept 08 24euros. The market in the Old Town is also essential viewing - the variety of food is wonderful and we ended up eating in every day rather than going to a restaurant. The market closes down by about 1.00 pm. There are many many restaurants - and some that specialise in fish dishes. The harbour is worth a walk around just to look how the other half lives - the yachts are out of this world. I would not say that it is a cheap holiday by any means as the cost of living over there has gone up and combined with the drop in value of the pound against the euro, we really noticed the difference from when we were last in Antibes three years ago. However, it is a lovely area to visit and we would still return - and still return to this particular apartment. Nice, Cannes and Monaco are all within half an hours train journey and Juan Les Pins is only just down the road - and it is worth getting the Petit Train from just off the Place de Gaulle which takes you on a scenic route there. The pool is very clean, large and there are chairs in the apartment that you can take down there. We went in September and we had the pool to ourselves on a couple of occasions. The shops outside the complex are extremely good and if you wanted to, you could just use the apartment, pool and the local shops and not need to go into the centre. One small downside is that the shops start opening up by about 5.0 a.m. and it can be very noisy. We found that by keeping our bedroom windows shut and keeping doors closed on that side, it didnt bother us after the initial couple of days.
