True get away from it all paradise

The description of the apartment and location are accurate, even perhaps a little understated. Contact with the owner's daughter, Cendrine, was also very helpful by email and phone, she speaks very good English.
We had a fantastic time at the apartment in late July 2009, which was the only minor problem as the transfers are Saturday only. The owner, Maryse, was very helpful, to the extent of providing a meal, wine and a few lifts in her car. Very helpful if you have some conversational French as Maryse's English is limited.
The outside kitchen had it's own dining room under the main villa's terrace and the pool was two steps away from the doors to the apartment. Maryse cleaned the pool every morning and it was exceptionally clear and has a secure barrier if you have young children. The pool is for the whole villa, but is not used by the owner at all so it is in effect a private pool for the apartment. The apartment's sun terrace was wonderful and eating lunch under the shade of the olive and palm trees was exquisite.
The villa is in a gated community, very secure and tranquil, with fantastic views to the sea and the park at the bottom of the hill. A car is recommended because even though the local amenities, station and beach are only 1k away, Antibe around 2k, the final stretch is up a very steep incline. We managed without a car, taxis to the beach were around 15 e and Antibe around 30 (but be wary of the coast road as this can double the fare.
The beach, supermarket and train station were a 25 minute stroll, Marineland and the large hypermarket around 45 minutes away at a steady pace, the former through the wonderful wooded park.
Trains were very frequent and a trip to the Italian Riviera, or Marseilles about an hour away, an all day roaming ticket was very reasonable at 12 euros in 2009 (and you could travel first class).
The apartment was accessed down steps or a partially paved slope and could be tricky for a wheelchair, but if you are reasonably mobile there are no problems in access.
The apartment itself was very spacious, easily accommodating the three of us, couple with a teenage daughter, very clean and cool, even without the air conditioning.
All in all I would highly recommend a stay at the apartment and a visit to this area as there is lots to do and a great deal of interesting places to visit even without a car, although a car makes access to some of the places of interest very much easier.
