Le Refuge offers bed and breakfast in an elegantly furnished double room, with a large and exclusive bathroom. The building, that used to be a monastery, is situated in a quiet street in the medieval village of Haut-de-Cagnes. Some say it is 'magic', coming here is like walking a couple of hundred years back in time. Yet, the village has around 15 restaurants - two of them with a Guide Michelin star. The 'Le Refuge' B&B guest apartment is part of a larger home. The room has a beautiful sea view and a separate entrance. There is a very comfortable double bed, a dining table for two, an armchair, and a television, DVD, and radio. The spacious bathroom is equipped with a bathtub, a shower, and a water closet, and bidet. There is no kitchen, but the apartment is equipped with a kettle, a microwave, and a refrigerator/freezer. Continental breakfast is included, other meals possible on demand.

The hill top village of Haut-de-Cagnes is the old part of Cagnes-sur-Mer, a seaside town and former fishing village between Nice Airport and Antibes. While Haut-de-Cagnes is almost untouched by modern life, Cagnes-sur-Mer has everything you need, including one of the best-covered Provencal markets of the Côte d´Azur. Also, from Cagnes-sur-Mer, you easily reach Nice, Antibes, Cannes, Grasse and St Paul de Vence via a network of local buses and trains. The beach is a 5 min car or bus ride away. On the other side of the village, the snow-clad Provencal mountains are within easy reach. The area is also full of museums, galleries and wonderful restaurants. Visitors often find Haut-de-Cagnes a magical place, full of ambiance and history!

Good double room with TV, DVD player, CD/radio and small dining area. Sea view from the bed - not just from the window! Superbly appointed bathroom with separate area containing fridge and microwave. Ms Tellander is a charming lady who gave us a real welcome and her breakfasts still live on in my memory.
Haut-de-Cagnes is an idylically pretty restored medieval village at the top of a hill overlooking Cagnes-sur-Mer, with free transport up and down to the town, Interesting things to see locally, and also Ideally located for public transport to all major points in the area: no car needed - in fact better without it, certainly in August.
A wonderful place to spend your time on the Côte d'Azur, especially in the middle of summer. Le Refuge really was a refuge to return to at night time after the incredible crowds of people we found everywhere else. The nearest restaurant, Le Manoir, was perfect for a late dinner out on the terrace. A really lovely holiday.

This accommodation is situated in a lovely village, lovely restaurants, a beautiful village square. The b&b accommodation is immaculately clean, comfortable and with everything you could want included. There is the bonus of a wonderful view to the sea, it's steps away from the restaurants and the village square, and yet it's very quiet. There is a free shuttle bus to Cagnes sur Mer from where you can take a bus to Nice, Cannes, Antibes, St Paul de Vence. Willie-Maria is friendly and helpful and provides a lovely breakfast. We loved it and would recommend this to all our friends.

I love this area, and have long sought somewhere well-placed for sight-seeing, walking, good food and (above all else) some peace and tranquility. The charming Haut-de-Cagne, and in particular Le Refuge, were ideal in all those respects.

There are several truly world-class restaurants within a short walk, and I was able to reach St. Paul-de-Vence by foot in about 45 minutes as well. Less-pricey fayre is also on offer very close-by, never falling below an extremely high standard.

The building is in the heart of the medieval town, and a short walk from the commercial and beach-side areas of Cagnes-sur-Mer, and the room is well-equipped. It is a studio in name only, with an enormous and comfortable bathroom, and a very useful utillity room together with food and drink facilities. The owner is very obliging, friendly, and more than happy to offer assistance with your stay and travels whilst you are there.

The view from the bed is just magnificent, and the memory of waking up to what seemed like a thousand acres of sky and seascape will linger long in the memory - hopefully long enough until my next visit!

We love Le Refuge so much that we have been four times and will return again and again. It is the holiday gem you dream of finding but so seldom do!
The apartment is ideal for two with super breakfasts provided by the charming owner. It has great views and is close to lots of restaurants and the village square.
Haut de Cagnes is totally unspoilt and a great place to unwind. There is a regular free bus down to the coast (5 mins) from where excellent transport links provide easy access to the rest of the Cote D'Azur including Nice, Cannes etc.
