Cannes holiday apartment: Cannes

We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday in this extremely well equipped apartment. On arrival the lady showing us around was friendly and helpful and was available in case of problems. We didn't have any. Everything was of a high standard and comfortable. Thoughtfully tea, coffee, sugar, salt etc. were provided, also a few basics, pasta, rice, tinned tomatoes, no milk. Enough soap/shampoo until we had time to go to the supermarket. You need to take beach towels. The TV was little small, but we never really had much time to watch it, there were some DVD's but we usually just used the radio. Internet connection was good. We ate out on the spacious terraces with wonderful views of the mountains, pool and well-kept gardens. Plenty of sun loungers and seating on the terraces. It was very hot during our stay so we could not make the most of the lovely park walks with views over the bay. We used the pool at lot. Very clean but no chairs/umbrellas allowed. Most people would only stay a couple of hours, so it was never crowded. It is a good 10 minute walk to the bus stop, but the buses were reliable and we used these a lot for going to Cannes, the beach and also the station to travel further along the coast. At night time we would take the bus to Cannes and then have a taxi back, about 15 euros. There are later buses, but for convenience we preferred to return by taxi. There were 6 of us, 2 adults and family, 21,19,18, 15. At no time did we feel crowded in the flat, there is plenty of space for everyone, lounge, terraces. Having 3 bathrooms was very useful. You really need a car for the supermarket and for travelling up to the mountains. Mougins is a delightful village with fantastic places to eat but you need to drive to it. There were no restaurants within easy walking distance, which would have been a change from eating in or going to Cannes, but we could have taken taxis to/from other places. We had a great time and the apartment was very comfortable. Also, security is taken very seriously and so felt very safe at all times, even with teenagers coming home at three in the morning! If you are there for a limited time it is best to 'read up' on the area and plan your sightseeing. We have been to the area before so did not want to travel too much but did go to Nice, Monaco, Mougins, Gorge du Verdon, Frejus. The apartment is well described on the web site and I would certainly recommend it.
