Situated in Mandelieu La Napoule on the Cote d’Azur, the Palais du Grand Duc occupies a hill top position nestled in the picturesque Esterel Massif. Commanding magnificent panoramic views across the mountains towards La Napoule harbour and Cannes beyond. Just a 15 minute drive from the centre of Cannes, it is also just a 25 minute drive from Nice airport via the A8. Completed in October 2004, the fully furnished apartment offers a spacious entrance hall, two bedrooms, one double with en-suite bathroom and one twin, a shower room with WC. The dining and lounge area has floor to ceiling glass doors opening onto a spacious 15 square meter covered balcony offering spectacular views. There is a private garden to the rear accessed through both bedrooms. The kitchen boasts an electric oven, four ring ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There is gas-fired central heating throughout. INTERNET ACCESS available nearby.

The nearest beaches are a ten minute drive away with favourites being Theoule sur Mer to the west and Port Rague marina. Further west, there is a wonderful child friendly beach at Sainte Maxime as well as the trendy and buzzing Juan les Pins, on the way to Antibes, which boasts excellent beach side restaurants where you can dine with your feet in the sand. Within half an hour’s drive is the medieval village of Mougins, famous for its art galleries and gastronomic dining, and Valbonne, with its charming cobbled streets and smart boutiques. For golf fans, there is no shortage of courses, the nearest being the Riviera Golf Club. The Mandelieu Old Course Golf Club has two courses, one a superb 18-hole championship style course, relatively flat with huge umbrella pines emphasizing accurate driving. To get from the second to the third hole you take a small ferry over the river! The second course is a nine hole executive course ideal for beginners. There are several others nearby.

  • Pricing inclusive of bed linen and towels (please bring your own beach towels), meet and greet, check-in/out service and a small welcome pack. Mandatory charge 100 euros per stay for cleaning and laundry outside peak summer season.
    Latest check out is 10.00 am. Check-in any time after 4.00 pm. For early and late check-ins and check-outs there is a small additional charge.
    All rates inclusive of hot water and electricity. A 25% non-refundable deposit is requested on booking. The balance is payable 6 weeks before arrival together with a breakage deposit of £250.00; the breakage deposit is returned directly after the end of your stay.
    CANCELLATION CHARGES: 8 weeks before arrival date: 25% of rental. 4 weeks before arrival date: 50% of rental. 2 weeks before arrival date: full rental. Checking in is between 4.00pm - 7.00pm Checking out is 10am. Discounts are available on winter or long term bookings.

The accommodation has been designed as a very spacious two bedroom, two bathroom apartment. We have chosen not to squeeze extra beds into the apartment in order to maintain the spacious and minimalist design. INTERNET ACCESS is available nearby for a small charge, or free via WiFi at O'Sullivan's. You will be met by the owners, who will hand you your keys and show you around. Palais du Grand Duc: The apartment is on the prestigious Domaine du Grand Duc, comprising 100 hectares of private dwellings nestled in a conservation area of outstanding natural beauty. There is 24-hour security at the gatehouse entrance and video entry phone to the building, which also has secure underground garage parking. Leisure facilities include an outdoor swimming pool with changing rooms and shower facilities exclusive to Palais residents, as well as a clubhouse, tennis courts, gym and second pool a short distance away, for which a daily charge is payable. The nearest shopping is in the village of La Napoule for boulangeries and grocery stores or Mandelieu, which offers large supermarkets like the Casino and the Geant.

Leisure: Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool with changing rooms and shower facilities exclusive to Palais residents, as well as a clubhouse, tennis courts, gym and second pool a short distance away, for which a daily charge is payable. Other places well worth a visit are Monaco with its impressive marina, Cannes for great shopping and eateries, Antibes with its historic walled city and the glamorous Cap d’Antibes as well as Nice, St Tropez, picturesque Seillans, dubbed the most beautiful village in France, and the historic artists centre St Paul de Vence, home of the world famous Colombe d’Or hotel. Restaurants: There is no shortage of fantastic restaurants in and around Mandelieu La Napoule, including the two Michelin star L‘Oasis in La Napoule village Le Brocherie II – on the marina at La Napoule, the waiters greet you with a platter of mouth-watering freshly caught fish to choose from. There is also a lobster lagoon. Marco Polo – also at Theoule sur Mer, this charming family run restaurant is open all year and is always busy. Booking is recommended even in low season as it is a favourite with the locals. (Tel no. 04 93 49 96 59) Le Potiniere du Palais – opposite the Palais des Festivals on the Croisette in Cannes, this restaurant specialises in simple but elegant food and is a favourite with Meg Ryan, Mel Gibson and Tom Hanks during the Cannes Film Festival. Restaurant Le Bigaradier, L'Hostellerie du Chateau, le Bar sur Loup (tel no. 04 93 42 41 10) Seasonal ingredients beautifully presented with breathtaking views of the valley. Highly recommended.

Ski: For winter sports, there are no less than 15 ski resorts within a two hour drive offering varied terrain for all levels of skiing and snowboarding. The closest resort is just above Grasse about one hour away.

Golf: For golf fans, there is no shortage of courses, the nearest being the Riviera Golf Club. The Mandelieu Old Course Golf Club has two courses, one a superb 18-hole championship style course, relatively flat with huge umbrella pines emphasizing accurate driving. We enjoyed a beautiful luxury apartment on the hill top of Grand Duc overlooking La-Napoule and the sea. The location is relaxingly quiet and off the busy areas of Cote d'Azur. The apartment offers everything you need for a unique stay. A car is mandatory!

Great, well equipped apartment.

The property was really clean and had a great layout, underground car parking was useful too!
A good location-not far from Cannes particularly and both Grasse and Antibes.
The apartment had a really nice view of the coast in the distance and the balcony was ideally situated to see some great thunderstorms, which unfortunately we saw too many of (poor weather!)

I would definately recommend this property

We were very satisfied with the apartment. The view was great, everything very clean and of a good quality. We enjoyed the stay very much. Whenever we had a question Ian was there to help us. We will defenitely come back!

We rented the ftat, because of the easy acces to motorway, and the vue to mediterainian sea, and we were not disapointed, the flat keeps what it promised.
