Palais du Grand Duc:
The apartment is on the prestigious Domaine du Grand Duc, comprising 100 hectares of private dwellings nestled in a conservation area of outstanding natural beauty. There is 24-hour security at the gatehouse entrance and video entry phone to the building, which also has secure underground garage parking.
Leisure facilities include an outdoor swimming pool with changing rooms and shower facilities exclusive to Palais residents, as well as a clubhouse, tennis courts, gym and second pool a short distance away, for which a daily charge is payable.
The nearest shopping is in the village of La Napoule for boulangeries and grocery stores or Mandelieu, which offers large supermarkets like the Casino and the Geant.

Other places well worth a visit are Monaco with its impressive marina, Cannes for great shopping and eateries, Antibes with its historic walled city and the glamorous Cap d’Antibes as well as Nice, St Tropez, picturesque Seillans, dubbed the most beautiful village in France, and the historic artists centre St Paul de Vence, home of the world famous Colombe d’Or hotel.
Other attractions include Marine Land in Antibes, which has other theme parks, canyoning on the River Loup and go karting in Gourdon. The Fragonard perfume factory tour in central Grasse is excellent with a lovely shop.

Restaurants:
There is no shortage of fantastic restaurants in and around Mandelieu La Napoule, including the two Michelin star L‘Oasis in La Napoule village
Le Brocherie II – on the marina at La Napoule, the waiters greet you with a platter of mouth-watering freshly caught fish to choose from. There is also a lobster lagoon.
Marco Polo – also at Theoule sur Mer, this charming family run restaurant is open all year and is always busy. Booking is recommended even in low season as it is a favourite with the locals. (Tel no. 04 93 49 96 59)
Le Potiniere du Palais – opposite the Palais des Festivals on the Croisette in Cannes, this restaurant specialises in simple but elegant food and is a favourite with Meg Ryan, Mel Gibson and Tom Hanks during the Cannes Film Festival.
Restaurant Le Bigaradier, L'Hostellerie du Chateau, le Bar sur Loup (tel no. 04 93 42 41 10) Seasonal ingredients beautifully presented with breathtaking views of the valley. Highly recommended.
Ski:
For winter sports, there are no less than 15 ski resorts within a two hour drive offering varied terrain for all levels of skiing and snowboarding. The closest resort is just above Grasse about one hour away.
Golf:
For golf fans, there is no shortage of courses, the nearest being the Riviera Golf Club. The Mandelieu Old Course Golf Club has two courses, one a superb 18-hole championship style course, relatively flat with huge umbrella pines emphasizing accurate driving. To get from the second to the third hole you take a small ferry over the river! The second course is a nine hole executive course ideal for beginners. There are 16 other excellent courses nearby.
